Wonwoo gets jealous of the way Mingyu and the reader are getting along.
---
The frigid air brushed past your face as you pulled your scarf tighter. For no other reason than meeting your lifelong friend's idol groupmates would you go outside in this kind of weather, but an occasion this special was an exception. Jeon Wonwoo, the dumb kid you'd known your whole life and had had a thing for for some time now, had been trying for ages to arrange a time for you to meet his second family. Though he only secured a few free hours, everyone on both sides was excited beyond explanation.

Your walk came to end and you finally arrived at their dorm building, but before you could lift your hand to push open the door, it flew back and you were greeted by a smiling Wonwoo. That smile... one that people usually assumed was forced, and one that had driven you crazy since you were kids.

"Hey, Y/N!" he chimed as he reached out to give you a quick hug.
"It's great to see you, Wonwoo!" you replied, hugging him back and stepping into the building.

He excitedly led you up the stairs to their door, punched in the key number on the lock pad, and opened it slowly, motioning for you to follow. You followed him in, finding a vast sea of shoes spread out in the door's hallway and silently laughing to yourself. Further down the hallway, you could hear a clamor of voices and your heart began to race. Wonwoo took your hand and walked you around the corner, bringing you face to face with the super rookie group.

Everyone began applauding and yelling as if they had won an award, simultaneously standing up to greet you. Of all 13 boys, one in particular seemed to stick out the most with the way he towered over everyone. Right away, you recognized him as Kim Mingyu. Two members you classified as the Variety Line, Soonyoung and Seungkwan, quickly calmed everyone down with their announcement.

"We figured you'd be cold, so we're making hot chocolate for everyone," Seungkwan said proudly, "It's my mom's recipe from when I was a kid."

"Everyone, the hot chocolate is ready!" Seokmin, the third Variety Line member called from the kitchen as if on cue. Obviously unable to carry 14 scalding cups on his own, the members all got up and ran to the kitchen to relieve him.

"I'll get yours for you, Y/N," Wonwoo said, "You've done plenty of walking already."
"Can you get mine too, hyung~?" Mingyu asked in a cringey cute tone of voice.
"I only have two hands, Mingyu, you can get it yourself."
"Ah, you're so mean..."

The two of them went to the kitchen as well and you took a moment to get comfortable on the couch and to warm up. Little by little, the boys trickled back into the living room, bringing the chocolatey aroma with them. Wonwoo handed yours to you, and he and Mingyu plopped down on either side of you on the couch. Nothing to lose, you brought the mug to your lips.

"Seungkwan, this is so good!" you exclaimed, tasting the velvety cocoa goodness that caressed your taste buds. Everyone exclaimed in agreement, followed by a symphony of sips and a few 'I-just-scalded-my-tongue' gasps.

Mingyu's face suddenly had 'mischievous' written all over it, and the millisecond you took to blink brought a warm, whipped cream and probably saliva covered spoon dragging down your cheek. Wonwoo froze, astonished with Mingyu's sudden change in behavior and glancing over to you to wait for your response.

This meant absolute war. Wiping away the whipped cream wwith your sleeve, you took your spoon, catching him by surprise as he was too absorbed in laughter to defend himself, and smeared its leftover contents down his nose.

In love with your reaction and your face when you were shocked, Mingyu launched his final, way too extra attack and kissed the top of your head, eliciting a loud, dramatized gasp from you. Out of the corner of your eye, however, you could sense a much less jovial person glaring daggers at Mingyu.

Wonwoo rose from his seat and stormed over to you, now displaying no emotion whatsoever, "Get up. It's time for you to go."

You hadn't seen him act like this before, ever... after such a long time of planning your visit with Seventeen, you couldn't wrap your head around how he could possibly be so eager to eject you. Solemnly nodding in agreement and setting your mug on the table, he helped you up and took your hand with a strong yet surprisingly gentle force to led you to the door.

"Hyung, why are you like this? I though you wanted us to meet her," Mingyu said from behind.
"No, I said it's time to go. She has things to do," Wonwoo hastily retorted.
"Just because you like her doesn't mean you own her!"

In a flash, Wonwoo snapped around with his face twisted in shock at Mingyu's words and his grip on your hand suddenly became solid stone. Your own eyes widened in both bone-crushing pain from his tight grasp and shock at the news. Mingyu had to be saying that to weaken him in the argument, right? There's no way Wonwoo actually liked you as more than a friend, right?

"We all wanted to meet her. The way you talk about her made her sound great, and it turns out she really is. Nobody's attacking you, hyung, so just stop being like this!"

Wonwoo was pure ice. No emotion, no movement, no sound... completely solid.

"Wonwoo..." you said, barely above a whisper.
He turned back around, completely avoiding eye contact with you, and led you out to the street to walk you home.

The walk home was silent and tense. He seemed to be really shaken by what Mingyu had blurted out, but despite his shock, he had not yet let go of your hand. This side of him was so foreign to you, almost scary, so you were sure to remain quiet about the incident.

You arrived at your place in a matter of minutes and attempted to walk up the steps, only to be tugged back gently to Wonwoo's side. Observing his face, you noticed that the corners of his lips had formed an awkward, shy smirk and his cheeks had reddened.

"So, I guess the truth is already out, huh?" he asked quietly.
"What... what do you mean?" you asked in return.
"I like you. Like, more than in a friendly way. That's what I mean."
"You..."

Wonwoo took your other hand as well, holding both tightly, "I overreacted when Mingyu kissed your head, and I'm sorry. I was scared you'd fall for him, he's dangerously charming and has a ton of fans... I didn't want to lose what wasn't even mine in the first place. I've liked you for a long time, Y/N, but at the risk of losing our friendship, I never said anything. I understand if you don't feel the same--"

"It's okay, shush," you assured, pulling a hand from his and pressing a finger to his lips to stop his unusual jumbling flow of words, "There's no need for an explanitory rap. I like you too."

Your words illuminated his entire being, the shy smirk morphing into a full blown grin. After a brief asphyxiating hug, he helped you up the icy steps to the apartment door.

"I'm really sorry..." he said again, laughing nervously.
"It's really okay. Just apologize to Mingyu when you get back, alright?" you replied.
"Yeah."

Before you could step into the building, Wonwoo pulled you back one last time. With little to no hesitation, he landed a small kiss on your cheek, smiling like a toddler.

"We'll all get together again," he said.
"Really?" you exclaimed excitedly, glad the incident didn't stop you from seeing them.
"Of course! What would I do without my 12 wingmen?"
"I love you, Jeon Wonwoo."
