Dear Diary,
What is the deal with people?! I really do not like them, because they betray each other at their own convenience. Like today, for instance, I witnessed a group of best friends split up over the same idiotic pretty boy of Shiroi Hasu Academy. I have no interest in Nate Jaku, because I know what he is really like. He is an arrogant rich boy given everything on a silver spoon. I try to avoid him in every way possible. He is just a jerk of the highest level. Thanks for always listening.
Sincerely,
Rayne Ojo

Little did I know that my life would change for the worst after that night.

"What is your deal?" Another Nate Jaku fan club cornered me at my shoe locker. "We've notice your attitude towards Nate lately. How could you not acknowledge how hot he is?!"

"I could care less if he dropped dead." And with that, I slammed my silver metal locker door. I still heard the ringing as I stormed down the pristine teal and silver painted brick walls and marble tiled hallways. I passed by groups of friends talking about their weekends and plans for lunch and after school. I, personally, have no need for friends and keep all to myself, due to the fact that I was scarred in my childhood from bullying and manipulation. I pulled out my mp3 and headphones, pressed play, and continued down my path to Mr. Kazuma's homeroom class, 1-A.

I slide the door open and walked over to my seat. It was the far back desk, next to the window. I love sitting there because it faces the courtyard. The courtyard is composed of brick pathways, a coy fish pond with a waterfall, wooden benches, and a beautiful botanical garden. I sat there, daydreaming, when everyone else in my homeroom filed in. We still had 10 minutes left before school started, I decided to work on next week's homework. Ding, ding, ding, ding.

The morning bell finally rang, and, as usual, Mr. Kazuma is late to greet the class. 5 minutes after the morning bell rang, we all heard the door slide open. There stood Mr. Kazuma with all his lessons practically falling out of his arms.

"Good morning class. I am going to take attendance, then tell you our schedule for the nest few weeks. Let us begin." One by one, everyone's names were called. As usual, when Nate was called, the classroom filled with the soft giggles of fan girls. I quietly gagged to myself. After roll call, Mr. Kazuma stood in front of the class to make some announcements.

"For the next 2-3 weeks, we will be doing a partner project over ancient literature. I will let you choose your topic, how to present the information, and who you present it with. There has to be a minimum of 2 people and a maximum of 4." After Mr. Kazuma was done speaking, he gave us a few minutes to choose partners. I always hated projects like this even though I was the smartest in the class. I watched everyone pair up with their friends. I looked down and started to work on my vocabulary. I heard a roar of laughter coming from the direction of Nate's desk. I glanced over and saw a horde of girls surrounding him.

"Sorry ladies. I would hate to choose just one of you. Why don't you spare me the trouble and heartache and pair up with each other?" His piercing, annoying voice reached my ears.

"Okay. It seems that almost everyone is paired up. Is there anyone who does not have a partner?" I raised my hand. The only other had belonged to Nate.

"Mr. Kazuma! I refuse to work with Nate Jaku as a partner. Is there any way I could just do it by myself?" I protested with every bone and fiber in my body. I'd rather die than ever be Nate's partner in anything.

"No, Rayne. Like I said before, each group must maintain a minimum of 2 people and a maximum of 4 people. This means that you cannot work by yourself, but you can join a different group. Is there a group willing to take Miss Rayne Ojo or Mister Nate Jaku?" I stood there waiting for someone to speak up, but the classroom fell so quiet that you could not even hear a cricket chirp. "Then it is settled. Rayne and Nate are partners for this group project. Now let's continue with yesterday's lesson." I angrily sat back down in my desk. When it finally came time to work on our projects, I became engrossed in my laptop's screen.
