My breath hitches in my throat, and all I can manage is tiny gasps for air, as I notice Lucas watching me from the corner of my eye. I screw my eyes shut, not wanting to face a judgmental stare, as the pain steadily increases. I try everything I can to keep from getting noticed, to keep from screaming in anguish. A tickle on my back distracts me, and sends shivers up my spine. The pain quickly ebbs way, and my breathing returns to normal. I glance at Lucas, and he grins a me with a twinkle in his eye. I scrunch my eyebrows together, confused, but shake my head and continue my work.

As the last few minutes drag on, I sneak glances at Lucas, who seems to be fixated on me. He seems curious, but knowing and I find myself getting lost in those stormy eyes of his. The final bell rings, and I quickly gather my things and head out the door to meet Terra at her locker. I weave through the bundles of slow walking students, getting slightly aggravated when one clips my shoulder. I pick up pace, until I hear my name being called. I spin around only to be slammed into, sending my bag flying. I whisper a strand of choice words, and glare up at a pale Lucas. He rubs the back of his neck and avoids my glare. "I am so sorry, I just wanted to ask you something." I roll my eyes and start grabbing my stuff, and he quickly joins in. "What did you want to ask?" I ask, as he picks up the last of my papers. "How long have you had that pain?" I stare at him confused. "It just recently started, why?" He lets out a slight hmm, then nods. "Okay, thanks Celia!" and he runs off, leaving my question unanswered.

I huff and head to my car, knowing that Terra is long gone by now.  I hop into my car and head home while singing to the radio.

As I walk through the door, a pouting Terra comes around the corner. "You bailed on me." She whines. I smile at her and walk to the kitchen to set my stuff down and make some hot coco. "I didn't bail on you, some new guy ran into me." she nods her head in understanding, then quickly perks up. "Want to go watch some TV?" I nod and she pulls me to the couch, settling on some show about ghosts. As the TV plays, I find my mind wandering to Lucas. His tall, lean figure. Those beautiful eyes, and his brown hair that was so perfectly styled today.

I probably seemed so bitter to him....

The front door opens, pulling me from my thoughts. I peek over the couch as mom walking in, and I jump up and run to her. "Mom!" I yell, wrapping my arms around her. She chuckles slightly and wraps me into a warm embrace. I smile and inhale her sent as she rubs little soothing circles on my back. She stops suddenly and I look up at her. Her face falls, and she tenses. I let go and back up a step. "what the matter mom?" She shakes her head and smiles at Terra. "Honey I'm sorry to shorten your time together, but you have to head home now." Terra lets out a long aww, but then head out the door after giving me a hug.

After I lock the door, mom calls me to the dining room. "Straddle the chair, facing away from me." I raise my eyebrow but do as she says. I feel her grab the bottom of my shirt and start to pull it up. I quickly grab it and pull it back down. She lets out a frustrated sigh and I can tell she's shaking her head. "Damn Celia, if you have something I've never seen, I'll be sure to throw a rock at it." Reluctantly, I move my hands. She bring up my shirt to my shoulders, and I gasp as cold hands rub right under my shoulder blades. "How long have you had these?" She pushes slightly, which forces a sharp intake of breath from me. She chuckles "Sorry." I hiss out the breath. "A couple days, why? They're just knots, they'll go away soon." Mom pulls my shirt back down, and I stand up from the chair. She smiles and shakes her head. "We're leaving this weekend. A trip with just me and you." I smile up at her. It's been so long since we've spent time together like this. "What are we going to do?" She smirks at me. "Training and discovering." And before I question her, she walks away.

What's up with people doing that to me lately?

Dinner time rolls around, and I glare at my rumbling stomach. I huff out a frustrated sigh and head down the stairs to the living room. I walk in as Jordan finishes up a match of CoD and plop down next him. "Can I play?" Jordan looks over at me and gives me a curt nod. I jump up and grab the second control, then sign in to join. I sit crisscross on the large brown couch as gun game starts. After a few matches of trying to beat Jordan to first, mom calls us for dinner. I groan and toss my controller to the other side of the couch and punch Jordan as he walks by. He chuckles and pushes me back down, just I stand from the couch. We laugh and head to the table.

As we're laughing about random things and munching on some scrumdiddlyumptious (yes, that is a word now!) steak and potatoes, mom clears her throat. "Jordan, your sister and I are going to be gone for the weekend." He stops eating and jerks his head towards mom. "Has it happened?" She nods. He turns to me and smirks. "Have fun. Don't die." Mom flings some potatoes at him as my eyes go wide. "Jason do not put thoughts into her head!" He laughs and mom glares at him. "Uh mom, what has happened exactly?" She turns her head towards me and smiles. "You're blooming."
