A/N: Being a preview there wont be much of an action or plot to this it's just to hear possible responses and see opinions. Side note the picture has absolutely nothing to do with the story. That being said- please enjoy.

Josh was sitting in class reading when the alarms went off, they were having a fire drill again. People were complaining about it because it was raining outside, and this was the third time the drill had been rescheduled so they wouldn't reschedule it again. The drill lasted until it was time to leave so Josh went to his car and put his stuff in before being distracted by something. When he finally got on his way home his cousin Sam started texting him, then calling him, and repeating over and over. Apparently strange things have been happening with him, Sam, and three of their friends, with no real way to describe it because it wasn't the same- only similar. For Josh it seemed shadows were dancing just beyond his vision, for Sam it always seemed like there was a breeze even in a closed room. The occurrences had no real effect just the fact that they made them seem crazy. Lately though they seemed to be getting stronger, the shadows getting braver to be in sight, the wind turning into a gale.
It was almost like something you would read in a fantasy book, and this made the five friends uncomfortable. When Josh got home he set his bag down and sat down at his desk, just thinking of all that had happened to him in the past two years. Though his thoughts were interrupted by something grabbing his wrist, grabbing the knife on his desk he twisted around and found nothing there. Maybe it was his imagination but suddenly his wrist felt cold, it felt freezing actually- like he put his hand in a lake during a Russian winter. Even though his wrist was freezing the rest of his arm didn't feel cold, in fact it was only his wrist that was cold. He turned back to his desk and looked at his wrist, it was cold definitely but for some reason that didn't bother him. He heard the coughing of his smoker parents in the other room reminding him he wasn't alone in the house. The rain hadn't yet let up so he couldn't go outside and clear his head, something came into his head "the darkness falls upon you" it was rather curious to him until he noticed the shadows behind him. They engulfed him completely freezing him to the bone, though like earlier it didn't bother him. In fact the shadows though freezing filled him with a huge warmth, giving him a place to belong. The shadows wrapped around him changing him in ways that should've been impossible, his clothes no longer jeans and a t-shirt were now a black trench coat and a black shirt and jeans. He felt that his hair had grown longer, it was down to his back, and it too had turned black. He looked at his desk, at his reflection in the glass to be exact. His eyes had changed color, from brown to violet. He noticed something violet just above his shoulder, grabbing it he realized it was a sword. He drew the sword and saw an amethyst carving as the guard and another as the hilt, wrapped in a small chain.
The blade had sigils carved into it, which glowed violet, they read; there is always darkness in the brightest hearts.
