A knock came to the door. Teagen's home glowed of orange and yellow. The lamps created a comforting atmosphere. She walked across the rugs. All of them were mismatched and different. Laying a hand on the light birch door, Teagen looked through the small window to the left of it. A young man stood by the door. He had a long, grey coat and Raven black hair. Breathing in deeply, she opened the door. The stranger lifted his head up and gave a sly smile. The moon was reflected in his pale face. He then said:
"Ah, my lady."
The man also had an eye patch covering his right eye. The left eye was a light teal blue.
"Why have you come sir?" Teagen asked.
"I have important business to discuss. You see, I am a famous inventor."
"If you want me to work for you, then I must decline." Teagen replied.
"But you could be rich, provide for your family." he said as he motioned toward her home."
"Come to my office tomorrow. I promise you won't regret it." he sneered.
The strange man reached into his coat pocket with his leather gloved hand and gave Teagen a small card.
"Just come." he said as his lone eye narrowed.
She grabbed the card as a droplet hit the stone street. It began to rain.
"Tomorrow, 7am." the man said again.
He took his black umbrella and popped it open, walking away. Teagen watched him turn the corner of the block. She looked down at the card she was given. It said:
"Korex Gallows"
