She could feel her skin burn and bubble with blisters, she knew it was all in her head but the pain felt so real; like she really was being burnt alive.

"Swear it! Swear the bloody oath!" a deep, masculine voice screamed in her ears. Lily squeezed her eyes shut, hoping that it would banish the pain she felt in every cell of her body. A fist crunched into her stomach; forcing the oxygen from her lungs, her eyes were forced open as a iron hand clamped on her jaw, forcing her to look into dark, almost black, eyes. She felt the need to scream desperately, but she bit her tongue; filling her dry mouth with a metallic taste, she refused to give him the pleasure. Instead she stared into his empty eyes, not moving a burning muscle. His face twisted into an annoyed scowl, he threw her to the ground. At that point, the heat level had risen on Lily's body, sweat coated every inch of her skin, soaking her clothes and wetting her hair.

She couldn't hold it any longer, she rolled onto her back and screamed. Her back arched as her voice echoed through the night. The pain was unbelievable, she wanted it to stop but she knew that it mean't giving in to them, the enemy. Instead, she withdrew to the only thing she had left, she closed her eyes and sought out the angel's mind. Lily hadn't had much practice but she didn't have much of a choice either, she found a black sphere, she entered. It was just as dark inside as it was outside, blood red swirls wound through the black corridors, screams of pain echoed through his mind as the violence of past events vibrated from the walls. This was one dangerous guy.

The burning pain blasted through, invading her mind. Lily screamed as the black and red corridors caved in around her, trapping her inside this monster's mind. An evil laugh echoed around her, she couldn't tell if it was in mind or in her ears.

"You have no power and no skill, you weakling."

Lily wasn't back inside her own mind, she was still in his. 'If I can't manipulate his mind...maybe I can possess it'. It was a long shot, but Lily wasn't going to give in without a fight. Lily projected herself into the blackness, forcing her way through the thick shadows of violence that haunted his mind. It was then that she spotted sphere in the centre of the darkness, it was a thick, blood red colour, so dark that Lily knew that this monster had taken so many lives in his time trapped on Earth. Lily projected herself once more, enveloping her spirit around the blood orb, colouring it the emerald green of her mind. In an instant, she was in control

Lily opened her eyes, well the Angel's eyes, her own body was laying limp on the ground, covered in sweat, dirt and blood. The Angel was large, his body was framed with hard muscle tissue, standing at six feet tall.

"Now what?"

Lily covered her mouth with a large hand, not expecting the deep voice that screamed at her to come out.

"Did she finally give in?"

Lily spun around, almost losing her balance, this guy was a lot bigger than she was use to. Her body was light, thin and fit, standing at five nine. The voice came from a teenaged boy, six feet tall with dark hair and deep blue eyes. Lily nearly let her jaw drop to the ground but she had to remember that she was in an Angel's body, she couldn't blow this.

"Ah..yeah. Yeah she did."

He nodded his head, "Good. She seemed like a tough one, I didn't think that you were gonna win."

"The closer the match, the stronger the possession."

"You got that right.. But I thought you were cutting it a little close there. Even for you."

Lilly shrugged the Angel's large shoulders, "Doesn't matter."

The teen boy lifted and eyebrow.

'Oh crap', Lily thought, 'I've blown it'.

Lily saw his hand twitch in the corner of her eye, that was enough warning. Using the Angel's super strength, Lily swung a fist upwards, connecting it with his chin. The other Angel's head flipped back and fell backwards, Lily knew she didn't have enough time to transfer back into her body, even if she did, her body would be weak from the process. Instead, she lifted her limp body and placed it on the broad shoulder of the creature she was possessing, the other Angel let out a painful groan. Lily's first instinct was to look back and check on him, but she ignored it and ran.

This body was heavier than her own, so it moved a lot slower than she was use to. The black alley she was cornered in branched off into another, Lily ran right, where she spotted a fire escape. Lily used the solid muscle in the Angel's legs to propel the possessed body up into the air, landing on a platform. The sound of weight on metal echoed in the alley way, Lily ran up the fire escape till she was on the roof. She gently laid her own unconscious body on the ground and straightened herself up. Lily closed her eyes and stepped away from the blood red orb, propelling herself out of this deadly creature's mind and back into her own.

When Lily opened her eyes again, her head throbbed and her body felt so heavy, she couldn't move. A groan escaped her lips as she slowly forced herself to sit up, her left hand cradling the side of her head.

"Never again." She whispered to herself, "Never again."

"How the hell did you manage that?"

Lily looked upwards to see the teenaged Angel, his blue eyes filled with curiosity. Lily tried to jump to her feet, but ended up losing her balance and stumbling to the edge of the roof. She felt her knee hit the small safely wall as the rest of her body began to tip over the edge, Lily felt a scream escape her lips as a an iron grip clamped around her wrist and waist, pulling her back upright. Lily's mind was swimming as the roof swirled around her vision. Once her mind had settled, Lily realised who had their arms around her, she broke free and ran off, jumping to the other roof. Her legs buckled as she landed, she had lost a lot of energy, but she continued to ran. There was no way she was gonna fight another Angel, not in this condition.

Lily collapsed in her room, her lungs were out of breath and her muscles ached. Her brunette hair plastered to her neck and face, her clothes were soaked in sweat and covered in dirt. Lily forced herself up and dragged her feet into the bathroom, she turned on the tap and tipped some bubble bath soap into the water as the steam filled the air. She peeled off her clothes and sank into the hot water, feeling her muscles relax the longer she stayed in there, the soap coated her skin, taking away the sweaty film that had formed on her body. Lily closed her eyes, letting the aroma of wild wild berries fill her nose and her mind.
