I walked out of the office with no expression on my face at all looking at Mrs.Pond.
"Whats wrong Makenzie how was the interview" Mrs.Pond asked with a worried look on her face.
"It went well" I replied again with no exspression
"So have they decided if they are gonna adopt you or not" Mrs.Pond said.
I could tell she was worried by the way her voice sounded.
"Yes they have decided" I blurted out quickly.
"So what did they say" Mrs.Pond said with guilt and worry in her voice and face.
"They said...."
"That they would adopt me!" I cheered
"Oh my god, I'm so happy for you that's amazing" Mrs. Pond cheered.
Mrs. Pond and I calmed down quickly.
"OK go pack your stuff your new family is waiting for you" Mrs.Pond said from down the hall.
I didn't respond.
"wait Makenzie you got adopted?" My roommate Emma asked.
"Yep" I said with pride.
"Congrats" Emma replied
"Thanks" I said while smiling
As I packed I whispered all the things I put in one at a time
"Sweaters...Pants....Bras...Shirts....
Socks...there done for clothes" I said quietly
I made sure nobody was around and I quickly ran into the bathroom with my bags.
I grabbed my toothbrush and toothpaste.
I looked around and made sure nobody was near.

I grabbed my blades and hid them in my bag.
I walked out back into my room, I looked around and made sure I had all my things.
"Yup...That's everything... Bye Emma" I said
Emma replied "bye"
I walked out of the room. Mrs. Pond was talking to my new family.
I looked at them, they looked back at me.
"Hi Makenzie" said my Dad
"Hi" I said nervously
"Are you ready to go now?" My dad asked
I looked around.
"Yea I think so" I replied
"Bye Mrs. Pond" I said
"Bye dear" Mrs. Pond replied
"Ok im ready let's go" I said to my dad and mom
"Ok" said my mom
"Bye Mrs. Pond it was nice meeting you" said my parents
"You too" Mrs. Pond said while we were half out the door.
We got in the car, it was quiet and kinda awkward, I looked around a little then just looked out the window.
My sister was looking at me.
"Hi" she said nervously
"Hi" I said back smiling a little
"I'm Sophie"
"Pretty name" I said
"How old are you" she asked "I'm 12" she spat out
"I'm 14" I replied
"Nice" she said awkwardly
It was quiet again.
My parents put on the radio
Work by Rihanna came on
I was staring out the window whispering "work work work just get ready for work work work".
"I know you need to get done at work come over we just need to slow the motion" I whispered
My sister heard me whispering.
"You know this song?" she asked
"Yea do you?" I replied
"Of course"
We both smiled at eachother.
When the courus came on we sang "WORK WORK WORK WORK WORK" looked back at eachother and laughed.
My dad looked back and asked "you two having fun" and my mom chuckled
"Yea" Sophie said.
"good were almost home" mom said
"Ok" Sophie and I said at the same time
I was having so much fun.
My sister started singing Down In the dm
"DOWN IN THE DM" she sang
"It goes down" I sang quietly
We finally pulled up in a driveway after about 30 minutes of driving.
I looked up at the house
it was so nice
"We're home" said my Dad
"Wow this is our house" I said in amazement
"Yep" said my mom
We went inside, it was quite late out now so I took my bags and went to my room.
I looked around. I saw loft bed, a white desk with a black cushioned chair and a laptop.
I was really tired so I left most of my stuff on the floor in my bag, said goodnight to my family and went to bed.
