What were you thinking?

What were you thinking in the barn that night?

Were you thinking of the people you would leave behind?

Were you thinking they wouldn't notice,

Or wouldn't care?

Tell me,

When you hung that rope,

Were you thinking about your life?

Were you thinking about the sorrows,

the pains and aches?

What were you thinking,

with that rope around your neck?

Did you realize it was a mistake?

Or were you happy for it to be over?

What were you thinking

As you drifted away?

Were you thinking of the people,

who would cry for you on that terrible day?

I know you didn't think that way,

But I sure wish you had.

Cause maybe my fvorite person would be back

So many people loved you,

I know you loved us too.

Can you please help me understand,

why you're no longer with us?

I wish you were here.

With your joyful smiles.

I wish things were back to normal.

When my favorite person was still here.
