My name is Mariposa Smith. I know, weird. But my mom was determined to be different and decided to name me Mariposa. Mariposa is the Spanish word for butterfly, which is super misleading. Butterflies are beautiful, graceful, and altogether everything I've wanted to be. The only thing that's in common between me and a butterfly is that because we're so tiny, a lot of predators see us as prey. *Sigh* I guess you could describe me as plain. I have straight brown hair, brown eyes and super big dorky glasses. I have one friend and her name is Lily Brown. Everyone thinks it's HILARIOUS that a girl practically named Butterfly is friends with a girl who was named after a flower. You can't help who you become friends with, though. At least that's what I thought for a long time.
Anyway, I've been bullied a lot in my life, and usually the bullies are really creative when they come up with insults, " Hey butterfly, why can't you just fly away and leave the rest of us alone?" Or, " Hey, Mari how's the sheep doing?'' Yep, real original.
