Today, Scorpius Malfoy was going to go to Diagon Alley with his father, Draco Malfoy. It was three days before the first day of school. He had heard so much about Hogwarts from family friends who had older children and could absolutely not wait to be there himself. Scorpius had no siblings, and was constantly pampered and spoiled by his parents; that's just the way he liked it. Yet, he sometimes wished he would have a sibling, someday. Sometimes he was even sure he'd caught his parents bringing it up while he secretly listened in on their private conversations.
"Ah, I can't believe it!" His mother, Astoria cried as Scorpius came down the stairs for breakfast. "I can't believe that in three days my little boy will be going to Hogwarts!" She kissed his cheek gently, leaving an imprint of her cherry red lipstick on his cheek.
"Mum.." Scorpius said, rubbing his cheek with his hand vigorously.
"I'm sorry, Scorpius, your father and I are just really proud of you." She said as she pulled him into a bone crushing hug.

"Daddy! Look at this owl!" Scorpius wailed pointing at a Horned Owl with ominous yellowish eyes. "Daddy, I need that owl!" Draco put a hand on his sons shoulder."Maybe, after we get the rest of your school stuff. Now, come on, Scorpius, we should be off to Ollivander's now." Draco said, directing his son away from the bird.
"Fine, father." Scorpius said, sulking. He dragged his feet down to Ollivander's, Draco practically pulling him.
Draco looked back at him outside Ollivander's. "Sulking will only get you further away from that bloody bird, you hear me?" Scorpius felt as if there was a knot in his throat, he nodded. Draco opened the door to Ollivander's and held it for Scorpius.
Mr. Ollivander came around the corner. "Ah, Mr. Malfoy," he began. Draco tried to give a small smile but still, he looked as if he'd eaten something terribly sour. "Who may this be?" Mr. Ollivander continued, motioning and smiling at Scorpius.
"This, Mr. Ollivander, is my son, Scorpius Malfoy. I hope you won't find it too difficult to find his wand, we've got lots to do-".
"Like buy that owl!" Scorpius butted in. Draco gave him a sharp, evil glare, a glare Scorpius had never seen before. His father had never treated him this way; he felt ignored, unimportant and Scorpius did not like this.
"Hush up, now Scorpius." Draco said with a tone of irritation in his voice. "Or you won't be seeing that owl anytime soon." Scorpius went silent.
"Alright," Mr. Ollivander said somewhat awkwardly. He pulled a wand box out of the wall and opened the box with the greatest care.
"How 'bout giving this one a go, Mr. Malfoy." He handed Scorpius a wand, it was a 12" Willow and Phoenix feather. He felt emotionally connected with it instantly."That's the one." Scorpius whispered just as Mr. Ollivander said the same three words aloud. Scorpius smiled at Mr. Ollivander and Draco sort of scoffed.
"That will be all, Ollivander." Draco said, still sounding irritated. He put a little money on Ollivanders desk, Scorpius thought that certainly wasn't enough to pay for such an essential wizarding item. Due to his fathers behavior towards him earlier today, he thought he'd better not mention it.
Him and his dad had gotten everything, except Scorpius still didn't have his owl. It was almost as if Draco didn't want him to get the owl. Fortunately for Scorpius, he'd learned early on that if he complained enough he'd get what he wanted. This was due to the fact that he had been spoiled his whole life. He and his dad sat down to eat ice cream and he thought about what he'd say.
"Daddyyyyyy pleaseeee, I really want that owl. Think about it. I could write to you first thing when I get to Hogwarts! We could write each other ever day! I promise I will if you promise you will! Oh daddy, I need this owl because I'll miss you..." Scorpius said truly sentimentally. He almost never felt sad or gushy but in this moment he flung his arms around his father and hugged him as hard as he could. Draco thought for a minute or two.
"Come on," He said patting Scorpius' back. "Let's go get you that owl." Draco smiled and walked, arm around his son, both of them perfectly happy.
