The hallway was dark as she walked down it, she had a candle in her hand to help, but it wasn't bright enough to see that far in front of her. Soon, she got to a door and slowly and quietly opened it, looking inside. In the middle of the room was a small table, on the floor a boy and a girl sat down at the table coloring on some paper and using a small candle that they took from one of their earlier birthdays for a light source. How they lit it remains unknown.

The boy seemed to have notice the door open and turned his head to look who it was.

"Yes, mom?"

At the question, the girl looked up and over at the door as well, in wonder of what was going on.

"Nothing Miles, I was just checking on you and Hazel to see if you were alright. The weather really is bad outside, took all the power out of the house."

"Will the power ever come back?" The girl, Hazel, asked.

"Yes dear, it will in the morning, we just need to wait for the storm outside to pass." She walked into the room and kneeled next to the two. "And what have you two been drawing here?"

It wasn't that easy to picture, a lot of crayon scribbles on some papers and some actual things.

Hazel was the first to say something. "I drew a black cat- she pointed to a picture of a black cat- and brother." She then pointed to a picture of what is assumed to be miles, short blonde hair, a white shirt and black shorts.

miles picked up two other drawings and put them side by side in front of her. "I draw a dog and sister." On the left was a picture of a black, white and brown dog. The other side, a girl with long blonde hair, a white blouse and a black skirt and as he said himself, it's Hazel.

"You two did a wonderful job." She gave them both a kiss to the forehead. "It's getting pretty dark, so why don't you two get ready and get in bed, alright?"

"Yes mom." They both said synchronicity.

She smiled. "Good, just don't stay up too late if you can't sleep, and try not to wake up anybody else." She got up and walked to the door. "Goodnight you two."

"Goodnight mom." They replied.

Then, she left the room, closing the door behind her, leaving the two by themselves again.

"Do we really have to go to bed? I'm not tired..." Hazel wined.

"Yes, mom said to, and besides, I really don't like listening to this storm." Miles replied, looking over at the window.

She scoffed. "It's not that bad, you're just a pussy." Hazel looked at the window as well then back at Miles.

"I guess." Miles stood up. "Now come on, let's get changed so we can get in bed, I'm tired."

As Miles went over to their dresser, Hazel followed. They changed out of their clothes and into their pajamas, Miles wearing a black button up top and some cozy black pants to match, same with Hazel but white. After that was dealt with, they both went to their bed, one across from the other, and got under the covers.

"Goodnight..." Miles said, facing the wall and away from Hazel.

Hazel didn't answer, instead, Miles heard some shifting around, then the next thing he knew-

"Miles...." He hummed in reply.

"Can... Can I sleep with you tonight? I don't like the storm..." Miles lightly giggled.

"I thought I was the pussy."

"S-Shut up..." She looked down.

Miles role over and looked at Hazel, then lift the covers and pat the spot next to him.

Recognizing the jester, Hazel crawled in, having the covers come down over her.

Hazel closed her eyes. "Goodnight Miles...." She said quietly, starting to fall asleep.

He hummed in return, cuddling into her. "Goodnight...." He replied back falling asleep.

Miles and Hazel, twins that do everything together, twins that go everywhere together, they know each other so well they might as well just be one person. For as long as they can remember, they've never left each other's side, they don't plan to either.

But not everyone can stick to the plan, sometimes things happen and plans get shifted around.
