I put the apron on that had the bakery's logo on it. I fixed my glasses up and headed to the cash register. Not that many people come here right after school is let out. Mainly because of other jobs. Only one person was in here. But he was looking at something that looked like a picture in a frame. I shrugged as he wasn't ordering anything.

Then, one of my co workers, Josh, came from the back and smiled at me as he tied his apron. "Hey Marcel, do you know where the extra supply of eggs are? Barbara ran out and we need some others." I smiled at him. "I think they are in the very back of the walk in fridge behind that curtain." I said, pointing to the worn out red curtain.

He patted my shoulder. "Thanks mate." He walked off and I turned back to the almost empty shop. Then I met eyes with the familiar blue one. He got up from the seat in the coffee shop and put the small picture frame in his back pocket. "Louis? What are you doing here?"

His glare was stone hard at the curtain. "Nothing. Just wanted to pass the time before I got to work." I nodded as he forced a fake smile onto his face. "Are you okay? And what were you looking at earlier?"

"Nothing. I'm fine." He tried to maintain the growl from his throat. "Marcel! Come here!" Babara called out ot me. I leaned over and kissed his hesitantly on the cheek before walking back to the kitchen. "Hon, I need you to put the cupcakes in the oven while I make another batch." I nodded, as I turned the oven on and slid the tray in before closing the door.

"Is there anything else?" I asked, smoothing out my apron that was over my black trousers and plain white T-shirt. "No dear, but thank you. Now go on and get back to the register." She smiled at me.

I made my way back and stopped short. I heard a low voice say. "Don't touch him ever again. Don't talk to him. Don't look at him. Don't even think about him. Do you understand me?" I peered around the door and looked to see Louis fisting Josh's shirt over the counter. Josh nodded and Louis smiled sickly. "Good. We will not discuss this again, now will we?"

Josh shook his head frantically. "N-no sir. Besides, I-I was just trying to be a friend. He never really has any." Josh was right. I don't. Louis let go of his shirt and rolled his eyes. "Bye now."

Josh ran past me hurriedly as I tried to say something to him. I walked slowly back to the front to see Louis looking down, running and hand through his hair. "Why did you do that?" I asked, walking towards him. He sighed, "Not now, Marcel. I need to get to work."

"Where do you work at?"

"I... I work at a bar." I nodded. He checked the time on his phone and sighed. "I really need to get going." I kissed his cheek again, before put my lips slightly against his. He gave me a smirk and walked out.

What was he looking at?

^^^^

Louis called me earlier and said that he was picking me up. I fixed my hair and headed down the stairs when Louis walked in. I chuckled. "What if I thought you were a robber and I would've hit you with this vase?" I smirked playfully as I pointed to the clear vase on the table beside me.

He laughed quietly and I walked towards him. He looked awfully pale and his eyes were a duller color than before. My eyebrows furrowed. "Louis, are you okay? You look kind of pale."

He looked up from the ground. "Uh yea! I'm just kind of tired. Didn't get that much sleep last night... let's get going." I nodded as he held the door for me. I heard him take in a shaky breath before opening the car door and closing it for me.

Once we got to the flat, he excused himself to the washroom. I told him I'll go after him as he walked off. I sat myself down on the couch. My mind drifted to the photos that Louis seemed really tense around me for. Was that a former boyfriend of his? Or was it just a close friend? He just seemed really frantic and mad when I was looking at them. He was being really possessive too.

And the picture in the frame he was looking at while he sat alone at the bakery? That was weird. I mean, I never told him I worked there but why would he just sit there, tracing the outline of the picture until he noticed I was even in his presence.

Louis has been in the loo for a while now. Just then, he came out and walked down the hall with a gloomy look on his face. It looked like he's been crying too. "Louis, are you sure you're okay?"

"Yes! I'm fine!" He snapped, rolling his eyes before sitting down next to me. "I-I'll just be going to the bathroom..." I walked to the loo and closed the door. I really didn't have to use it, I really just wanted to think things over quickly about Louis.

But something caught my eyes. It was a picture frame. I moved the necessities that hid it and looked at it more. I picked it up and gasped.

It was Louis and the unknown boy when they were young. But half of the picture was smear with fresh blood.
