Fang came home around 1am the next day. I pretended to be asleep when he crept over to my bed. He brushed the hair from my face and planted a kiss on my forehead. I smiled a toothless grin and fluttered my eyes open.

"Sorry, didn't mean to wake you." Fang said. "It's ok, I wasn't asleep." I responded.

"So, did you tell everyone the news?" He asked in a melancholy tone. "Yea, they all took it pretty well... even my mom." I said with a meek smile. He grinned. "So were did you go?" I asked. "To the cave were we flew with the hawks that day." I nodded to let him know I heard.

After a breathes worth of silence passed I began my well thought out speech. "Fang-", I said, accompanied by unplanned and unexpected tears, "I don't want this to change anything between us. I... I know this is a lot but-", I was about to finish my sentence when an uncontrollable sob swept over me. Fang's brows furrowed in worry as he scooped me up and cradled me in his arms. "Nothing will change," he whispered into my ear, "nothing."

Even though it was comforting to hear him say that I still felt stupid and weak. Here I was, Maximum Ride, the tough girl who could kill an Eraser with one punch. Yet here I laid, crying into the crook of my boyfriend's chest as the weight of my teen pregnancy hit me. I knew something wasn't right. Something was wrong with this pregnancy because the crazy thing was... I didn't even remember anything ever happening between Fang and I.

When the tears stopped he laid me down on my bed and tucked me in. "Goodnight,"
he whispered. "Goodnight...", I mindlessly uttered back with my head lost in the thought of what tomorrow would bring.
