Jay's P.O.V.

I sat, staring out the window. He promised me that on this day, he'd be here. He PROMISED. Why would he do this to me?

My father walked by me, putting his hand on my shoulder. "What is it?" I asked. We were both staring out the window. "Baby girl... We need to talk." I looked up. "About what?" I asked. "About... About Masky coming today. Something came up, and he... Well... He won't be coming over today. He says sorry." I felt a stone in my throat. "But... He said... He PROMISED!" I laid into my dad's side, crying harder than ever before. "Jaycee, I'm so sorry. I know you're upset, but we can't do anything. He just had to do things."

I turned away. "What did he have to do? What was so important that he missed Mom's birthday?" My dad put his hand on my shoulder. "That's another thing we need to talk about... He was called back to proxy duties by Slender Man. He and Hoody are now working as proxies again, as well as helping their sister." That was when I stood up and ran out. I couldn't listen to it, anymore.

It was so unfair! He told me that he'd be here for my mom's birthday! Why did he lie about that? Not knowing anywhere else to get peace and quiet, I ran outside. I just began to run around aimlessly and scream, occasionally falling on the floor and kicking and screaming. Uncle Masky was my favorite person in the whole wide world! He was nice to me and taught me so much, not to mention all of the times he was gentle when I did something bad or stupid.

Breathing heavily, I sat down and let out one final, very loud scream. Tears pouring down my cheeks, I laid on my side and silently cried.

When I looked around, I realized I had no idea where I was. The house was nowhere in sight. I must've been so angry, that I didn't pay attention to where I was going. The entire place was just covered in dying grass. The last time I'd seen it, the grass was a lush green. It was also pretty cold outside, I was shivering.

Then, I watched as a small flake fell. It was a glistening white. Then, another. Soon, they were everywhere. What was going on? I touched one and let it melt on my hand. It was so cold! They kept falling down everywhere, some on me, others elsewhere. What was up with all of this? I'd never seen it before.

I walked on a little bit until I fell on my side, shivering. My legs were so cold, they wouldn't move anymore. Was this what my daddy was always so worried about? If it was, then he was right. It was going to be the end of me, no doubt. As the white things began to cover me, I faded out.
