Callie's POV:

After we are done with our laughing fit we finish our breakfast. Still giggling everyone in a while like little five year olds that did something bad. "What is so funny?" Helen asks.

Ty and I look at each other and burst into another giggling fit. "Inside joke mom," Ty laughs and winks at me making my laugh harder. Helen just shakes her head, but smiles at us. Maybe she likes that we already have inside jokes. Maybe she really wants me to like it here.

When we are done eating Ty heads for the garage door. When he doesn't hear me behind him he turns around. "Aren't you coming?" He asks.

"No Callie isn't going back to school until next week," Helen says before I can answer. Ty looks confused and I don't blame him, but before he can ask anymore questions he sees the time from the clock on the stove and runs out the door waving to us. Helen laughs at her son behavior and turns to me.

"So what would you like to do today?" She asks. "We could go see a movie, or just watch a movie here (we have a ton), or I could teach you to bake if you don't know how, or we could go shopping again," she says excitedly. "Oh you don't have a vanity in your room. I have a few things in the shed that we could clean up and paint. Would you like a vanity? It would give us something to do until 2 o'clock when the guys come with your tv," she exclaims even more excited now.

I loved that I could make her so happy by just doing what she wanted to do. I have a feeling that Mr. A and Ty don't really do these things with her. "Yeah that sounds like fun!" I say enthusiastically even though I don't really think it sounds fun. I would rather listen to music with Ty or play with Brandon, but I don't think she gets to do stuff like this. Maybe that's why she wanted me to come here. Maybe she just wanted a daughter that would want to be with her.

She claps her hands, again very excitedly, then has me follow her to the shed in the back yard. We go in and it doesn't look like a shed at all. It has chic black and white wallpaper with white accessories everywhere. It has a beautiful antique white desk and a maple wood side table with a glass inlet. There was a white sofa and a coffee table in front of it. There was a sofa table pressed up against the wall with a coffee pot and a clear container with coffee in it. "W- what is this place?" I ask.

"It's my quiet place. I come here to get away from Richard and even Tyler sometimes. I just read or listen to music. They've never found me when I've come out here because I shut the door and they would never think to look in the shed... that's why I made it, but enough about me. I think that maple side table would be a great vanity if we painted it and found a pretty mirror to go above it."

"That's a great idea!" I exclaim.

She smiles. "Great lets get to painting then. I'll find you a mirror later." I nod. "Oh, and Callie?" I look at her in reply. "I really want you to like it here and if you ever just need to get away you can come in here... I mean if you'd like. I hide the key in the planter." She smiles.

I return her smile. "Thank you." We paint the table until its to our liking. Then we let it dry, eat lunch, and watch a movie.

When the movie is over there is a knock on the the door. Perfect timing! Helen gets up from the couch and answers the door. A minute later she walks back in the living room. "Callie there is someone here to see you," she says cheerfully.

He steps out of the way and Jude runs to me. I stand up and give him a huge hug. "I missed you Callie," he says. He's still gripping tightly to me.

"I missed you too Jude," I tell him. When he finally lets go I look up and see Brandon standing in the doorway. "Hey Brandon!" I exclaim with a smile spread widely across my face.

He smiles back with equally the amount of enthusiasm. "Hey!"

"Jude, Brandon, this is my new foster mom Helen. Helen this is my brother Jude and my... Um... Best friend Brandon," I say gesturing to everyone. Nobody noticed that awkward pause, right? Who am I kidding yes they did. Ugh!

"Nice to meet you!" Helen says to both Brandon and Jude. Then she turns her attention to me. "I was thinking we would go out to eat tonight. When Ty gets home you two can choose where we go."

"Great!" I say to her. She leaves the room and goes into the kitchen. "So... Do you guys want to come see my new room? It's pretty big and I don't have to share! Well... I have to share a bathroom with Ty, but that's no biggy." I know I shouldn't have said that when I see Brandon tense. "Let's go," I say a little awkwardly. As we walk up the stairs I start to worry about Brandon meeting Ty. I mean he gets tense at the sound of his name, how will he act when he actually meets him?
