“Run like you stole something.” She said to herself while increasing the speed of her racing feet. “Run like you’ll be killed if you got caught.” She continued murmuring while trying to hold her tears and keep her breathing slow.

Sweat covers her face and dampens the hemlines of her shirt. Her hair was sprinkling water from excessive running as she tries to sort everything out from her mind. The pain she feels inside kept her fists relax as she forces herself to go beyond her limit. Leg muscles were starting to cramp but she doesn’t care, just keeps on going.

“You’ll be okay. You’ll be okay.” She continued talking to herself, whispering the assurance she needs to make it through the day.

Slowly, her pace went down as she near the steep side of the hill. Her heavy breathing becomes evident while trailing towards the top of the hill. She halts. It was nine in the evening and there were no any other breathing can be heard aside from hers.

“I hate you.” She mumbled while looking through the city lights and feeling the cold wind cools her face. “I hate you. I shouldn’t have given you…” a ball of breathe from deep within her escapes her mouth. “…my heart.”
