The room was dark... But then again it always is. Always empty, always evil... Always taunting me with it's silence. But there was something about tonight that was just off. It may seem the same... But it does not feel the same. Although I was being teased by the mystery of this abandoned room in my home, I needed to focus. The grand ball starts in just a couple of hours. Speaking that my home is to large for me, I volunteered to have it in my Mansion.
I was just about done with all of the cooking when I heard a sudden creak in the floor. It sounded like it was coming from down the hall. I moved slowly toward it... When all of a sudden the creak changed course. It was as if something was going up the stairs. I began to follow the noise. As I stepped on the last step the creak began to come from a room... That room. I slowly moved closer and closer toward it. Before I knew it I was standing in front of it, hesitating to open the door. My hand moved toward the knob slowly, just as I was about to open it the door the bell rang. The guests were here. There was no time to chase creaks up and down the stairs. As I was walking down the stairs I thought about how silly I was. Thinking there was something in there. A creak is a creak, the wood is old in this house. After I gathered my thoughts I opened the door to the major and his family.
It was around 10:30 when everyone started showing up. Gladly, everyone looked like they were have a great time especially Major Ronald. Then, a loud creak came from upstairs... But it seemed as if I was the only one who heard it. I tried ignoring it. But the creak came closer and closer, until it was as if it was right behind me. I began looking around nervously. "Great party Jerald", said Major Ronald while patting me on the back. I jumped due to the fact I was excepting anyone to touch at the moment. "Jumpy are we Jer?" "Sorry Major, I wasn't expecting you to sneak up on me like that", I said while we both chuckled a little. The Major moved through the house begging to mingle with all the guests again. I began walking through the house as well, greeting all of the guests as the bell rang. I walked over to answer it but the Major had beaten me to it. Although I was not pleased with whom it was on the other side. His name was Finick Fear. He indeed lived up to his name. Many years ago he was caught terrorizing young girls and kidnapping them. They weren't dead, but what he'd done with them was still a mystery... He had served his time, so major welcomed him with open arms. But I still had a bad feeling about it.
It was around midnight and everyone still looked like they were having a fantastic time. Except, for Fear. He looked at certain people with a bit of jealousy. I didn't want to know what he was thinking. "Jerald, have you seen my wife", the Major asked hesitantly. "No I'm afraid not Mr. Major, is everything alright?", I responded. "Uh, yeah I'm just having trouble finding her." He walked away still troubled. Then... Fear and I made I contact, and it hit me. I began to look around for the majors wife when I realized, more people were beginning to disappear. Everywhere I went, Fear passed around, disappearing in the darkness. I walked upstart to check if anyone was up there. There was no one in sight.
After I was done roaming around upstairs looking for the guests I was about to go down to the party when I heard it... I had almost forgotten about it. The creak, it was back. I had enough. This taunting was going to stop. I opened to door, and what I saw... Was to hard to comprehend. Three bodies laid on the floor. Either unconscious or dead, I wasn't sure. One of them was the Majors wife. And standing in the middle of them was a faint glow, I was still able to make out it's features. My uncle... He died it this house, alone. Once he laid eyes on me he came straight for me. I slammed to door shut as fast as I could. I turned around, he was there and grabbed me.THE END.
