Chapter One
I was standing in the same room I have been in at least 50 times from 237 years ago. The same man from 237 years ago was talking just like he was 237 years ago; people called him The Man Of Endless Names. He was assigning us to our new cities for the next life. Reading them from his endless scroll, he was saying names that I have heard many times before, “Rosie, Las Vegas, Nevada, parents, Anne and Jonah Smith, $21/hr, Assistant tutor.”
“Abigail, Cairo, Egypt, parents, Ashley and Brandon Jordan, $15/hr, office worker”
The Man Of Endless Names said at least twenty names before he finally announced where I was going.
“Rosalinda, Freeport, Maine, parents, Evilin and Robert Rutherford, $94.50/hr, orthodontist,” I sighed in relief because in my previous life my parents worked at a fast food restaurant and made almost less than minimum wage. I said hi to my new parents in the room of life, and together we gave our ticket to the ticket man, and he pressed a button and the portal lit up and sent us into our new home.

I was sitting in a bed, staring at a room I have never seen before. It was painted red with a silhouette of a cityscape, a desk painted white, with practically everything anybody needed, and the bed I was sitting on was a huge queen size bed with a white canopy and the fluffiest comforter I have ever felt.
I walked up to the desk, there, in an envelope with a golden sticker keeping it closed, it was signed by the Master, saying that it was urgent for me to open, I hesitated opening it, because I have never seen this envelope in any of the lives I have lives. Slowly and carefully I took hold of it and took off the golden sticker.
