Thus the story begins on a fall day. Which meant Spike was out and about running errands for Twilight who was currently cleaning out her library. “Now all I need is for Spike to fetch me that liquid mite treatment for my ears… I am never helping Applejack with the hay again,” thought Twilight as she swept the floors and dusted the bookshelves simultaneously. Just then the door opened and Spike came running in saying. “Twilight I got you some liquid mite treatment for your ears.” “Finally,” Twilight told herself. Spike brought it in and set it carefully down on the table.
“Do you want to use it for your ears now?” said Spike.
“Yes now Spike,” replied Twilight. Twilight got into the bathtub and turned the water on very hot. Soon the bathroom filled with steam and the smell of soap as Spike brushed Twilights mane and body off. Then Spike took the bottle of mite treatment and squirted a large quantity into his hand then thoroughly rubbed Twilights ears with it. “Make sure to get the insides to Spike.” He did the best he could and then grabbed the shower hose and sprayed Twilight down with it sending all that soap off her legs and down the drain. She then got out of the bathtub while Spike came running in quickly with a towel. Spike threw the towel over Twilight’s body and helped dry her off. Twilight now smiling and clean said, “Thank you for all your help today Spike!” With that she then patted him on the head.
It was now lunch time and Twilight decided to reward Spike by taking him out on a nice picnic. So they left home toward the long green stretch of hills that surrounded Applejack acres and was in between Applejacks stretching rows of Apple trees. There they could keep away from much of the ponies and still be close enough to home. So they ate and talked about the day and all the weather. After lunch was over darker clouds seemed to move in. They thought maybe it would rain. Twilight and Spike were already finished with their picnic so they left back to home.
Half way there they were they saw Applejack bucking her trees like she always does in this season. She looked as if she was having trouble, once again her brother was unable to help her (This time left Ponyville and injured.). Twilight remembering last time asked her if she needed help. Applejack knowing what happened last time said, “Maybe a little but I’d rather finish it myself. I think I can manage.” Twilight responded, “Are you sure?” Applejack still bucking said, “Yes! Ok I need some help.” Twilight just now remembering she had an important meeting at Canterlot said, “Oops I am sorry but I can’t now I’ve got to go to Canterlot for an important meeting. Spike then feeling the need to help said, “Hey! You know what Twilight? I already finished all my chores today. Why don’t I help?” Applejack turned to him and let out a chuckle. “Ha. Spike you’re much too little to be helping… Besides this is an Earth Ponies job. ““I know that but I can still climb trees and carry small buckets of apples and if you let me on your back…” Twilight looked at Applejack. Applejack returned the look and said, “Well if you insist.” Spike threw his fist in the air and shouted “YES!”
Twilight left to home to get ready for her important meeting and leave. “Alright Spike let’s get started.” Spike and Applejack both worked together very hard. Spike carrying many Apple buckets and climbing trees to harvest them soon grew tired. By the time it was late afternoon they had accomplished so much in such a short amount of time. Both completely exhausted returned to Applejacks house to relax and get a drink. Well there you have it they both drank Apple juice. Spike asked himself in his head, “Is EVERYTHING Applejack has Apple related?” He wasn’t going to ask her cause he thought it might be offensive. Applejack now returning from her room dressed in something else to look better and be suited for night asked, “So, when will Twilight be back?” Spike responded, “probably late at night like usual. ““Oh ok then.” Spike was confused to as why she asked so he questioned her, “Why did you ask Applejack? “ “Oh nothing really I just wanted to know when to send you back.” Then Applejack did the strangest thing. Well somewhat strange. She asked Spike if he wanted to spend the night instead. Spike knew Applejack was his friend. Obviously she was always willing to lend a helping hoof like when Rarity was kidnapped. (Well it was for Rarity too obviously but she knew he had a crush on her so she wanted him to feel better.) (Besides her and Rarity don’t exactly get along so much so yeah for Spike’s feelings.) Spike also thought maybe she got lonely ever since her family had to leave Ponyville for some very important anonymous cause. So he responded, “Yes, Applejack that sounds like fun.” There was a look on Applejack’s stressed and hardly worked face. That smile and the lighting up of her eyes let Spike know she didn’t feel so lonely anymore.
