Bulletproof

Somehow the Avengers were ambushed. You were watching from your window when shots were fired. You watch as the battle unfolds opening the window to get a better look at the attackers. As you spot the Hydra symbol on the back of the attackers back memories flood back. The tests, the constant pain, all of that just to make a bulletproof human. You remember the screams from the room next to yours the sound of metal being blowtorched.It was true that your skin was unscarred and impenetrable but your mind was not.

For the past 5 years you had been hiding from Hydra and until you had moved to New York they had no clue of your whereabouts, but that's what you get for living a block away from the Avenger's tower. 

Then you remember your empty fridge. Before this whole ordeal broke out you had been on your way to get groceries and now you're really hungry. You have to make a decision, to stay or go out there and risk getting seen by Hydra. After careful thought you decide that you need groceries and head out. As you walk out of the building you see the Black Widow, Captain America, and Hawkeye all crouched behind a car.

You are careful to keep your sunglasses secure on your face and your hood over your eyes. You walk quickly- behind the lines of broken cars- trying your best not to get shot. The Captain makes a run for it defecting bullets as he goes. Hawkeye is shooting arrows through the broken windows of the car, and Black Widow is loading her pistol. You cross the street and Steve yells at you to get out of the way but you pretend not to hear him. Out of the corner of your eye you see Natasha stand up to shoot, just as she launches the first bullet an array of bullets fly towards her, you look up to see 3 different snipers perched on top of buildings. They fly towards her, impact was inevitable. You make a split second decision and sprint towards her. Steve and Natasha tell you to get out of there but you keep heading for the Black Widow. You turn and stand in front of her just as the bullets are about to hit her.

Two hit your stomach and one directly above your heart. Steve calls out but the bullets only bounce off, harmless. "Ow." You whisper turning to leave. Shocked at what has happened the three Avengers stare at you. You simply pull the shades lower on your face and run quickly towards to the super market. Leaving both Natasha, Steve, Clint, and Hyrda to wonder what just happened.
