Birth of : The Flash

Chapter 1: Origins

Crash! Came the sound of lightning crashing through the glass. As it hit me, I flew into my glass cabinet of chemicals. I was knocked out cold from the pain.
Twelve years ago
It was my mom's birthday. I was running home from school with a surprise in the book in my hand. As I ran up the steps to my door I saw the most horrific sight a child of ten years old could see.
Present Time
"Barry Allen!" said Captain Signe. "Nice to have you back." he told me as I walked to my lab. Many of my coworkers welcomed me back to work with opened arms.
My lab was the way it was after the accident. My equipment wasn't top notch either. The precinct didn't have much money for the forensics. Most of the equipment was stuff from the 90's. I'm the only forensic scientist in my precinct.
     With much work to do, I was working overtime. Piles of unsolved cases were left waiting for me while I was taking a well deserved nap for nine months. As the clock reached two in the morning I fell asleep.
      As I opened the door I saw my father holding my mother in his arms covered in blood. I stood there in shock not believing what I was seeing. My father looked up and told me to dial 911 for the ambulance.
      "Barry, Barry, Barry!" I woke up. Standing there was Joe West. He is the best detective in the precinct. "Wake up, you been sleeping for nine months, the least you can do is give your father a hug."  I stood and gave him a hug.
      Then Iris walked in. Iris was Joe's daughter and also my biggest crush. "What is wrong with you!" She exclaimed as she gave me a hug.  " You gave us the biggest scare of our lives!"After I told her it wasn't my fault we agreed to get some breakfast.
      As Joe drove us to IHOP I fell asleep in the back.
     The neighbor came over to see why my father was yelling. When she saw my mother she called 911. As stood there til the cops came, proclaimed her murdered, and wrongfully arrested my dad. That's when Joe brought me to his house and took me in. My father trusted him cause they were good friends and I was best friends with Iris.
