Lucy's POV
After long hours on a plane, plus the time changing back three hours, I was tired.
We finally arrived at our new house. It was brick and it had 3 stories including the attic. Okay, so it was nice but it's not where I grew up. And I don't think I could ever love this house that much.
"Hey Lucy, come help me unpack boxes!" Mom said from the kitchen as she unpacked her nice china. "Fine" I said grumpily as I headed into my new room and started taking out all of my things. My new room had lime green walls and my own bathroom. It was a little bigger than I expected. So maybe this new house thing won't be so bad.
I finally finished unpacking so I went downstairs to eat supper. Ruby and Mom were already sitting there, picking at their spaghetti. "Mom, why did we have to move?" I asked breaking the silence. "Honey, you know I had to change locations for my job. I promise after a week or two, you'll be warmed up to the idea" Mom replied as she took a sip of her sweet tea. Yeah, there is no way us southern girls are going to fit in at California. "Why don't you just stop being a baby and open up to the idea. You never know, you might actually like this place" Ruby said in an annoyed voice. "UGH!!!" I yelled. It echoed through the whole house because it's still mostly empty. "Lucy, Honey, after supper I won't you to go introduce yourself to the neighbors" Mom said quietly, taking another sip of tea. "BUT WHY!?" I screamed getting annoyed. She always takes Ruby's side on things. It upsets me so much. "LUCY ELIZABETH JENKINS! Don't you dare talk to me that way" Mom said screaming and then quieting down a bit. Ruby snickered and snorted. "STOP RUBY!" I yelled and she yelled back "YOU CAN'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO!" "GIRLS JUST STOP IT! I KNOW IT'S GOING TO TAKE SOME TIME TO GET USED TO LIVING HERE BUT SUCK IT UP AND MAYBE JUST MAYBE YOU'LL LIKE IT!" Mom screamed at the top of her lungs. She's never really done that before so it made Ruby and I shut up. The rest of supper was silent. I got up to throw my paper plate away and started to go upstairs but Mom stopped me and said "Lucy, go over to the neighbors. Maybe you'll make new friends. I heard they have a lot of kids around your age." Mom said quietly, her voice hoarse. "Ok" I replied. I quickly brushed my hair and applied lip gloss. I slowly walked outside and immediately a cool breeze blew in my face.
I walked up the front steps and knocked on the door. I started playing with my R5 necklace. I do that when I'm nervous. I don't mean to but I find myself doing it a lot. I heard a very familiar voice say "I'll get it!" and all of a sudden the door opened up. I saw a tall blonde boy standing there and by the time I realized who he was, he started speaking. "Hey, who are you?" he said as he leaned against the doorway. "I'm L-Lucy. Your new neighbor. And you're R-R-Ross Lynch?" It came out more like a question than an answer. "Yup, that's me" He replied. I saw him eyeing my pick necklace and I blushed. "So you're a fan" he said locking eyes with me. His beautiful brown eyes look like they could look through my soul. "Well come on in then" He said grabbing my hand and pulling me through the doorway. I love R5 but I've always had a thing for Ross. I mean, I just finished putting up all of my posters of him on my new wall. I can't even believe that I'm in the Lynches house right now! "Hey guys this is Lucy, our new neighbor" Ross said, pulling me into the family room where they were all sitting. OMG! I'm meeting my idols right now!
