~COMING SOON~
My eyes struggled to focus in on the obsidian sea of nothingness. My head felt like it was caving in. I was wearing the usual red cape and a knee length blue dress. I looked around at what used to be my Wonderland.
How it ended up so sickening and dirty, I had no idea. All I knew was that I was going to have to survive the night here, in this unknown place. Whatever creature dwelled here must be the kind that would attack you on sight.
Crickets chirped and I held onto myself tightly. Why did I have to fall asleep? The fog that was emitted by my mouth began freezing in place. It was unmoving, immobile. I stared at it for a long time, finally mustering up some courage to have a little poke.
I raised my hand and stuck my finger out. As soon as I touched it, it vanished into thin air. It was getting colder, I should move. Don't want what happened yesterday to repeat.
The Wingerbats were horrible beasts, chasing you around as if you were food. They were not very negotiable or welcoming creatures. They hated my guts. I looked around looking for Mousey, an old friend.
I had many friends when I was younger, but for some reason Mousey was the only one that survived. "Summer!" Mousey yelled from the huge Pipsine tree. I turned around with a smile on my face, "Mousey!" I yelled back grinning like a saber toothed tiger.
I ran towards him, careful of the long, draping velvety cape. The oversized mouse looked at me with his large black eyes, his whiskers were about as long as a twig. He wore a black top hat and always seemed to have tap-dancing shoes on. Once I reached Mousey I was out of breath.
"I was worried those Wingerbats were going to come after us again!" I exclaimed, relieved I had someone. "Oh come on Red, just imagine them away!" He teased. I looked over at the black lake, which ran through the Pipsine Orchard. The water was the colour of a black orynx gem. The wimd rustled some of the leaves, creating the eerie nighttime air that I was so used to.
"Did you hear about what happened to the Earth Wizard?" Mousey asked hopping of the log. We were walking in a random direction, Mousey always had told me 'going places you have never been gives you knowledge; knowledge o whether it is a good idea to go back or not'. So I usually didn't complain about our whereabouts. I mean after all, this is all in my head. Right?
"I don't live here, so no. I did not hear about what happened to the Earth Wizard and neither do I want to know what happened. He is a lovely person," I said sticking up for the old haggard man.
"Insane too," Mousey murmured. "What was that?" I snapped. "Nothing," h answered quickly. My eyebrows turned into a frown, everyone wss always mean to the Earth Wizard, especially the rest of the Elders. They bullied him relentless. Sure he was a little... insane. But then again, isn't everybody?
I was so caught up in my little reverie that I hadn't noticed that Mousey had disappeared. Not again, I thought.
I looked around worried. Sometimes I hated the fact that I was so imaginative. The more deeper I think about something, the more detailed the scene unfolds.
What would you think about at this very moment, Summer?
I stood at the bank of the river, I must've subconsciously walked over. What would you think of? I pried.
Why would I send Mousey away?
Frustrated, I picked up a pebble. I looked at the shiny reflective surface of the quite heavy turquoise pebble. I held it up, eclipsing the moon. I closed one eye, looked at it a diffrent angle and just stared. Think!
I looked closely at the pebble and then noticed that there was an oddly snake-like body lurking in the waters behind me. It's eyes training my movements.
Really Summer? Out of everything, you imagined this?
I turned around and loomed the creature in it's eyes. "Hi?" I coughed awkwardly and waved. It growled in response. I gulped.
Guess I have to run again.
