I know, I haven't updated in a awhile! I am so sorry! My life has been so busy! But now finally an update! :)

The car trip was long and slow. It took two days and she felt every second of it! When they arrived at the old cottage, it seemed very outdated. She knocked on the door and an elderly lady opened the door. She had a pleasantness about her and a warm smile, but behind the laugh lines was a crying and broken heart. She was very aware of brokenness through her unsmiling eyes. Before she could ask the reason for the elderly woman's sadness, a stout guard joined her and briskly showed the woman his I.D. ?? was expected to do the same, but the guard had not informed her of this fact. After some less than subtle hinting and a few awkward silent moments, the guard finally just reached into her pocket and showed the woman ?? I.D. The women then kindly offered them her home and asked if they would like some tea. After she returned, the guard politely excused himself and left them alone. "Why do you flash a fake smile when your eyes show such saddness?" ?? asked softly, "Why are you so sad?" The woman paused drinking her tea and set the cup on the table. "She was only 18, so young. I told her it was a bad idea. I didn't trust him with his shifty brown eyes and tan skin. She wouldn't listen though, said she had to do it and it wasn't her choice." ?? put her hand softy on the woman's hands that she clutched in her lap.  "Who is the 'she' you are talking about?"  "Rowena, my daughter. She got a new job shortly before she...she..." She paused to regain control of her emotions, "before she disappeared." Agent ?? had no idea how to respond. She didn't know her parents. She couldn't remember. She had no idea how the woman felt.  "You look a little like her except your eyes are blue and your hair is jet black. Her hair was brown and curly with green eyes.  She might have been around your age, how old are you?" Agent ?? thought back as far as she could, but just like every other time an earsplitting headache came on strong and fast. "I'm...I'm," she tried to push through the headache, "22. I'm 22." She sank down into the couch and tried to relax. The personal questions continued and after about the 3rd one, she was feeling quite dizzy from the strain. "Where did you grow up?" the kind woman asked, but it was no use Agent ?? fainted.
When she awoke, there was a cool cloth on her head. "How are you feeling, love?" the woman asked as she sipped her tea. "I'm alright, thanks." She sat up and removed the cold cloth. Then they got down to the real reason that Agent ?? was there. Miriam, the kind woman, rolled up her sleeve and revealed a braclet. It was to be protected. It was more beautiful than she thought it would be. The stone shone with many different colors when it caught the sun and it had a pearly white color without the sun. The gold chain sparkled and shimmered with the slightest shift of Miriam's wrist. It had obviously been taken care of.  Miriam grabbed ?? hand, "Here, I want you to have it, You can protect it better if you are wearing it." She slipped the bracelet off of her wrist and onto ??.
