"Stargazers everywhere have reported a strange blue light heading towards Jupiter. It has been described as a bright white circle with a blue tail. Astronomers have identified it as meteorite 1890RB, but has been given the nickname 'Orb.' We will keep you posted on this spectacle in the sky."
The screen went black.
Mom stood behind me, the tv remote in her hand, "it'll rot your brain." She said simply; a response to my glare.
"But Jupiter, Mom! Jupiter might be doomed."
She shook her head, "see? Your mind has deteriorated already."
I sighed. Jupiter was about to explode and I wasn't even allowed to know about it. I was the first one in astronomy class to point the meteor out, anyway.
"You'll be late." A voice yelled from the kitchen. Dad.
Fantastic.
Sighing again, I grabbed my bag and stormed out the door, slamming it behind me in an attempt to make a point.
I heard the muffled yell of 'don't slam the door!' from inside my house and let myself smile a little.
Today was a good day.

"And how are things at home, Frank?"
Shrink looked at me with those huge, piercing grey eyes of hers, as if she was trying to look into my soul or something.
4 minutes 11 seconds. That's how long it took her to ask the question: 'how are things at home?'
It's the same question every week, and it always gets the same answer- a shrug.
She sighed a little and kept staring at me, "what does that mean?"
I shrugged again.
I swear they hire the most irritating people possible to be shrinks. The only reason I even turned up was it meant I missed games, and I hate games more than I hate maths.
There was silence for a moment before Shrink tried another approach. "I heard you saw the meteor heading for Jupiter."
I nodded a tiny bit, looking at my feet as if they were suddenly the most relevant and interesting things on earth.
"What do you think about that? I know how much space interests you."
I shrugged.
"Frank?"
She can say my name as many times as she wants. I'm not a dog. She can't expect me to come when I'm called.
"Please, I need you to listen to me."
I kept looking at my feet, then at the clock on the wall.
Exactly one minute passed and we were both silent.
Shrink didn't say much else for the lesson and started sending emails to people.
