Ok, so before we begin, I would just like to say that this is NOT an original idea. This idea belongs entirely to ferisae on tumblr. She drew a comic of an alternate ending to the Volphina episode and oh my god I just loved it. I looked everywhere to see if I could find someone who had written something similar but I found nothing. Zip. Nada. Why has no one written anything like this? It's an amazing idea and I'm sure that there are other authors out there who could come up with an original idea with this concept but I'm just not creative enough. I would also like to say that I'm not the best writer in the world. Hell, this piece of writing is shit! I have not done it justice so I would advise you to go look at the original comic on ferisae's tumblr.
Well, before I ramble on anymore, let's begin!
Volphina laughed evilly as she watched Ladybug and Chat Noir chase her up the Eiffel Tower. "Now, give me your Miraculous, or else!" She shouted as she swung Adrien around, threatening to drop him.
"I thought you loved him?!"
Volphina snickered. "I don't love him as much as seeing both of you defeated!" She turned her head towards Adrien, pulling him up so his face was level with hers. "No hard feelings, huh?"
"You're bluffing, it's one of your illusions again!" Chat chuckled.
"Wanna test that theory?" Volphina smirked and released her grip on Adrien's arm one finger at a time, leaving only her thumb and pinky wrapped around it.
"No! Don't hurt him!" Ladybug screeched, collapsing onto the tower. "You'll get what you want..." Ladybug slowly brought her free hand up to pull out her earrings. Chat hadn't noticed what Ladybug was doing, he was too focused on Volphina. Out of the corner of his eye Chat saw a flash of pink light, causing him to realise Ladybug's plan.
"Ladybug, no! Don't do that!" But he was too late. Ladybug had already removed her Miraculous and was transforming back into her normal self. As soon as she was completely detransformed, the light subsided and she started to fall down the tower, Ladybug's Miraculous clutched tightly in her hand.
Chat Noir's eyes went wide as his instincts started to kick in. Without thinking he jumped down just far enough to grab Ladybug's wrist, pulling her up a tiny bit before he made eye contact, making him freeze. Dangling off the side of the Eiffel Tower, Chat was met with the terror-filled eyes of the of person he never thought would be Ladybug.
"...Marinette?" Chat whispered, his voice filled with shock.
Marinette, looked away, refusing to look Chat Noir in the eyes, a few tears falling down her face. "Sorry Chat." She said in a quiet voice. Marinette took a deep breath in before wiping away her tears with the back of her fist and looking up at Volphina with a had glare.
"If this is what you want, take them!" Marinette shouted. "Now, let him go!" With that, she flung her earrings up into the air to Volphina.
"Marinette, No!!!"
"As you wish!" Volphina smirked as she let go of Adrien's arm to grab the Miraculous. "Oopsie..." She sniggered. "My hand slipped..."
"NO!!" Marinette screamed, so much pain in her voice. As Adrien's body fell past the pair hanging from the tower, Marinette reached out to grab Adrien but missed when Chat started pulling her up.
"Adrien! No!" She screamed again. "Adrien!!"
"It'a just an illusion, Marinette!" Chat yelled, continuing to pull her up onto the beams.
"No!"
"Marinette-" Chat was cut off by Marinette's struggling.
"Save him!" Marinette screamed again, struggling in Chat Noir's grip.
