Josh: You and Josh were childhood best friends. Josh was your next-door neighbor. He would always knock on your door to see if you wanted to go outside and play with him. As you two got older, your friendship grew and grew. One day when you were both 14 years old, sitting on the grass in Josh's back garden, Josh started talking about how lucky he was to have you as a best friend. He then leaned in for a kiss.
You've been together ever since.
Cian: You and Cian met one day whilst at one of your friend's partys. You were sitting on the couch beside your best friend, chatting and laughing, when you see this cute guy across the room staring at you adoringly. You thought that he looked familiar but couldn't quite think of who he was. Maybe you'd seen him at school once? But why was he looking at you like that?
You decided to shake it off thinking that he was looking at someone behind you. You continued to chat to your friend again and had a good time laughing with her.
Suddenly the cute guy started walking towards you. He said his name was Cian Morrin and that he thought you were cute. You started chatting and became good friends.
Eventually you two started a relationship.
Dayl: One night you were driving along on a wet and slippery road when your car skidded and you crashed into a ditch. It was 3am so there wasn't anyone around. Your leg was in a lot of pain and you couldn't manage to get out of your car.
Suddenly a guy who looked like he was in his early 20s ran up to you. He saw that you were hurt and helped you out of the car. He rang for an ambulance on his phone. While you were waiting for the ambulance you two started chatting. He said that his name was Dayl Cronin. He was very sweet and quite funny, trying to make you smile. He gave you his hoodie to put around your shoulders to keep you warm.
He gave you his number and told you to call him some time tomorrow so he could make sure that you were okay.
When the ambulance arrived you thanked Dayl for helping you. You two then said your goodbyes and you were taken off to hospital.
When you came home from hospital, Dayl visited you regularly. After a while, Dayl finally asked for you to be his girlfriend.
Ryan: You were upstairs in your bedroom when your brother came through the front door with his best friend. They went upstairs to your brother's room and you could hear them playing video games on your brother's PlayStation. You had your door open and you were lying on your bed scrolling through your Instagram and Twitter feeds. Ryan walked past your room and into the bathroom. You caught a glimpse of him and thought he was cute. He was wearing a plain white tee, some black jeans with red Converse. He was wearing a red bandana on his head, with his dark brown hair pushed back. When he was walking back from the bathroom he walked into your bedroom and you started chatting to each other. He was really lovely and you liked talking to him.
When ever Ryan came over to hang out with your brother he would always end up talking to you. After a couple of weeks of this, you two started to fall in love.
Brendan: Your house-mates were gone out for the night, while you were cooking dinner for yourself when you heard the doorbell ring. You went to open the door. Standing there was a tall boy with shaggy black hair. He was wearing a grey jumper with black jeans and white Nike shoes. He also wore black square glasses. He said that he was Brendan Murray, a friend of one of your house-mates. You told him that they weren't home but that he could come inside while you rang them to see if they were coming home anytime soon. You turned on the tv and offered Brendan a seat.
When you had finished talking to your house-mate on the phone, you told Brendan that they weren't planning on coming home soon. It was late at night and there weren't any buses running, so Brendan had to stay over for the night.
You both sat on the couch and watched a movie to pass time.
In the morning you woke up with your head on Brendan's shoulder with him still asleep.
A couple of weeks passed and you two started to fall in love. Brendan then asked you out and you two started dating.
Dean: You were at a concert (The 1975, to be exact) and you were dancing and laughing with your best friend. You were having an amazing time when suddenly you had beer running down your shirt. You looked up and saw a tall boy holding an empty beer glass with an embarrassed look on his face, his cheeks flushed. He was wearing a white tee with a black leather jacket and some black jeans with white shoes. He also wore a black hat on his head.
He immediately started apologising and getting extremly flustered. You said it was grand and that you didn't really mind because you didn't want anything to ruin your night.
The boy said that he was Dean Gibbons.
You two - along with your best friend - danced along side each other and had a great night.
After a couple of weeks of knowing each other, Dean asked you out.
I know that these weren't exactly the way most preferences are written. And I know that they are quite long preferences - if you could even call them that.
But it was really fun writing them.
