After Celosia had told us what she had heard, N began to relay the message to Q. He was talking to me, but I was too dazed by the fact that we had them now. Pierre Giuseppe, Dark Ness, Dee Vil, and apparently Lynnette Farrell... Why were they doing all of this?
"F! Focus!" M yelled at me, making me snap out of my dazed thinking.
"Okay... So how are we going to get them arrested without being potentially attacked by a group of insane serial murderers?" Celosia asked. I could have sworn I saw her fist get tighter when she said 'serial murderers'.
"We call in a bunch of Interpol agents and have them deal with these guys. There isn't much else to do, so I'll just have Q contact D," N said.
"He'll be talking to his girlfriend, so he'll be delighted," I whispered humorously under my breath. It's kind of this Interpol thing where we all tease how D and Q are so meant to be... Q's army of technology underlings are the most obsessed with it. That explains why L is always blabbing about it even think nobody understands a word that comes out of her mouth...
"Are we sure that's a chance we want to take? These guys have killed tons of people and could even attack the agents we bring up here to arrest them," X pointed out, frowning.
"He has a point. These guys are dangerous and could attack us the second they hear we're here," I agreed.
"Then why don't we get out of here before they notice that we're here?" Vesgate asked. "That's the only way where we can stay truly safe."
"Then let's go," Milan whispered. She took Connor's hand and pulled him for the door.
We shooed the two of them, Vesgate and Celosia out of the station so that only X, M, N, and I were around. We all shared rock hard glances, knowing instantly what we had to do. M hissed commands at Q about sending D, J, and T down here to help us with ambushing the Kuranin.
"Wait for fifteen minutes. Interpol will be driving down here to help us with their arrest," M announced. "I told them to get the other four out of harm's way once they get here."
"Don't want civilians getting into trouble? Classic M being classic M," X smiled. M glared at him, so X stepped back and hid behind N.
The door creaked open not long after. I turned to see a trio of Interpol agents and Griffin walking in. Remind me why the bumbling idiot was on the field when he was banned from it a long time ago...
"Where are they?" D asked.
"They were last seen in a room hidden under the train tracks. They might still be there," I answered.
T gestured for a group of agents (most of whom I don't know the names of) to follow her. They all did, and soon enough, I could see the tops of their heads through the train tracks. T shrugged up at me, shaking her head.
Giuseppe, Vil, and Ness were gone.
I swore under my breath and began pacing. Where would they have gone?! They were there when Celosia went down there just twenty minutes ago! She told us that Farrell had gone somewhere else, and...
What if they were all in her room?
Since Celosia hadn't gotten the moment to check out the room where Farrell had run off to, I grabbed D's arm and pulled her close to my lips. "Search the building top to bottom," I hissed in her ear. She nodded and pulled her arm away.
D whispered something into her earpiece. T came walking back in shortly after. She and D led the group of random agents through the rest of the building, peeking in every room before disappearing from view.
I crossed my arms and looked around. I peered out the window to see the Interpol bodyguards who were watching Milan, Connor, Vesgate, and Celosia. The four other investigators looked confused, angry, betrayed, and angrier respectively. I forced myself to look away. Why did any of us think bringing civilians into this investigation was a good idea?
"We did the right thing," M told me, having noticed how uneasy I was. I grabbed the pull string for the blinds on the window. They clamped shut, making the quartet from outside disappear from view.
"I know," I mumbled, my fingers tightening around the handle of the string.
"You don't have to worry about any of this. We're doing what we have to as agents," N said.
"I know..." I repeated, my knuckles turning white with the unreleased grip of my fist around the string.
"On a totally unrelated note, how long until you think we'll have the Kuranin arrested?" X asked. "Do you think we'll even have a chance of catching them while we're here today?"
"I don't think we're going to catch them," M admitted. "If they've evaded us this long, they may find a way to escape while T and D's group is searching."
"I hope we can get our hands on them... I want to go home..." X muttered. He had pulled a picture out of his pocket while I wasn't paying attention and had begun to stare at it. X sniffled and rubbed his eyes, as if he was going to start crying.
I resisted the urge to think of Aya. I had to leave her behind for this job, and it might be nice to go and see my little sister again after this case had been solved and the like...
Everybody seemed to go lost in thought for a few minutes, thinking of one thing or another from what I assume was their home lives. I know that my home was what I had been thinking about at the time...
"Hey guys! Guess what?! We made an arrest on one of the people you mentioned!!"
