- 14 Weeks Pregnant -

We had decided to stay longer than originally planned. That way, we had a week to settle in and then Just had to get back to work.

Today was his first day back.

As much as I wanted him to stay, I knew he needed to leave. Now would have been the best time for Krystal to come over so we could gossip but I was nowhere close so that wasn't an option.

Instead, I was sitting on the couch watching the Discovery Channel and texting.

Pattie was home too, but I had been avoiding her because any type of interaction alway ended up feeling awkward. She made me feel out of place, almost like she didn't want me here.

So when she walked into the room and sit down beside me, I was expecting the worst.

"How do you feel?" She asked. I was waiting for the extra comment.

I nodded, "Pretty good. She moves a lot."

I saw her smile, "That's good. How far along are you now? Almost halfway there, right?"

I wasn't sure if that was a poke at my weight or if she was just unaware, "I'm 14 weeks now. Still a little far away from the halfway mark."

She nodded and stared at the TV. We sat in awkward silence for a few minutes as we both stared at the show. I wasn't really watching it, but I didn't want to start staring at my phone with her here either.

"Do you love him?"

I frowned and turned to face her, "Who? Justin?"

I saw her watching me closely and had to bite my cheek.

"I think so," I mumbled, "I've only known him for like, 8 weeks, but I think I do." I took a deep breath, "As much as a girl can in my case at least."

She reached over and placed her hand on my knee, "I'm sorry for being so rude to you lately." She sighed and moved her hand, "You just need to understand that he's my baby. I don't want him to get hurt."

I finally understood her. She was just looking out for her son, just like I would do for my little girl.

"As his mother I can't help but worry that he's making the wrong decisions." I didn't want to look at her but I felt almost obligated as she kept talking, "But everytime he looks at you or you look at him I can feel the love. He loves you, I can see that."

I blushed and nodded, "Yeah, he does."

"I can also she that you love him." I finally looked her in the eye and she smiled at me, "So I'm sorry if I come off harsh. I'm really doing my best to support you two."

"My mom is the same. She just loves me too much. It's hard to see past that."

She nodded, "And you will feel like that about her too." Then she sat up straighter and reached over to my belly, "Have you guys talked about names yet?"

I shook my head and smiled, "We have nicknames but we haven't talked anything official."

"Well, you don't have forever. And don't leave it for last minute or you'll end up with a name you didn't think about enough." She laughed but then stood up, "Anyways, I'll leave you alone. Call me if you need anything."
