"Okay Nancy, my names Greg, I'm here to help you, okay?" The paramedic spoke gently to Nancy and the seizure continued.
He looked at Mick,
"How long has the seizure been going on?" He asked, remaining as calm as possible.
"I don't know. Eh about 10 minutes. I really don't know." He replied, clearly distressed, "is she going to be okay?" He continued.
"She's in safe hands Mr Carters." Reassured the paramedic.Lee stood at a distance. Not being able to help his sister got to him. He'd never seen a seizure this bad, so he was slightly unsure of what was going to happen.
"Because of the length of the seizure, and the medication not helping, we're going to take her in." Explains the paramedic as he helped Mick place his daughter onto a stretcher.
Mick looked down at his shirt, now stained with the crimson blood along with his hands. He wiped his hands on to the shirt, obviously scared at the amount of blood. Without thinking, he ploughed past his family, only caring about his daughter. She needed him now more than ever.
As he followed into the ambulance, he sat down shaking, stroking his daughters hair as the seizure finally began to slow down. Grabbing her hand, he spoke soothingly to his daughter, "That's it baby girl, I'm here, I'm not going anywhere."A sigh of relief came naturally as the seizure stopped. Nancy lay there, resting. Mick kissed her head, as he always did after one of the fits.
"I love you so much," he whispered at the ambulance began to move, "never forget that."
