Chapter 7

"So basically your saying your not scared to sleep?", Jacob asked as I bit my lip unsure of how to answer that. "At least it's Friday night no school for us, for the next two days", I said as he turned off the movie and we walked out of the hangout area. "So your sleepy?", he asked as we walked in the hallway. "Not after that movie!", I whispered yelled punching is slightly muscular arm. "So let's hang out in my dorm", he said leading me down the boys hall. All the other boys had they're dorm doors either open or they were in the hall hanging out with the others. We walked past a few doors until I heard someone call me from the inside of they're dorm. "You know the new guy?", Jacob asked. "Sort of", I replied playing with my fingers. "Well, go . If anything you know where my dorm is. Catch you later sis", he said as he patted my back and walked away. I peeked into the dorm and saw Derek sitting on his bed. "Come in", his raspy voice chuckled . I walked in not really interested in talking to the guy I embarrassed myself in front of. "Can we start over?", those words escaped from my lips. "That's what I wanted to ask you, I mean I didn't mean for us to meet in such an awkward state of mind", he said as I nodded in agreement. "Yeah, Yeah I know what you mean", I said gazing outside his dorm room from a distance. "You draw?", I said looking at a few drawings that later on his wall. "Yeah I draw anything that sparks interest or anything like that", I glanced at him and smiled still looking at them. I came across to this drawing with me working on a paper I recently did in class. "Is, is that.. me ?", I asked looking at him confused. "Oh, that one ? Um ... yeah ", he said getting up to stand beside me. My cheeks turned a bright pink. I hope he didn't notice. "So I spark interest?", I said facing him not sure what he would say. "Yeah, you do", he said looking down at me. I quickly turned my head not wanting to keep looking at him, it was just awkward. He's only been here for like 3 days and he drew me. This is not creepy but Is it sane ? I mean what if it's that love at first sight thing ? You know ? Like the one in the movies where they look at each-other and just keep staring at each-other? Is that why I started at him ? The thoughts that ran through my head made me feel overwhelmed with emotion. Confusion. I was so confused. "Hey you okay?", he asked as he placed his hand on arm. I turned around. "Yep, all is good. Everything is dandy", I said backing out of the dorm awkwardly. I can see his expressions were all over the place as well. He seemed so confused too ! "Well I should get going", I said smiling trying to make him smile too. It worked. "Bye", I quickly said walking away trying to find Jacob's dorm.

"You said dandy ?", Jacob laughed at me as I face palmed myself. "It's not funny man", I frowned. "What if he thinks I'm weird?", I asked pacing around him while he played Xbox and he shooed me every time I crossed the t.v. "Well you said he has a drawing of you right?", I nodded. "So if anything he's the weird one", he said shrugging. "No it's not that weird, In a way it's kind of adorable", I said folding my arms. Jacob paused the game and stared at me. "What", I said. "Are you falling for this guy?", he said as I looked at my sneakers. "Are you?", he smirked. "No, Jacob I just met the guy !", I snapped at him. "Anyways I'm going to go", I said pointing at the door with my thumb. "Be safe text me when you get to your dorm", he said as I nodded. "Yes mother", I obnoxiously responded as he rolled his eyes. I walked back over to the hallway hoping Derek didn't look through his door. I quickly sprinted hoping he wouldn't see me. Hoping I don't fall in front of these other guys. After that walking I approached my door slightly cracked. "Leslie?", I asked opening the door as I saw he sitting and talking with guess who ? Dustin . That's who . "Oh, hell no Dustin", I crossed my arms. "Can you let me have my dorm mate back ? For at least one night. My gosh", I said opening the door signaling him to leave. "Hi , to you too", he said grinning giving Leslie a peck on the cheek then leaving. I quickly shut the door. "Phoebe I miss you too", she said running to me and literally jumping on me. We both crashed down to the floor laughing hysterically. I was surprised that she didn't snap at me for snapping at her guy friend over there, but then again it was nothing personal so I guess she didn't take it like that. "So you and the new guy?", she winked and nudged me. I walked over to my bed and just shrugged. "He has drawing's", I said smiling. "Cool of what?", she asked interested. "Of me", I giggled lightly but she kept a straight face. "All of you ?", she asked confused. "No ! Just one of me", I said correcting myself. "That's so sweet", she said lightly pushing me. "Yeah I guess but Jacob says maybe I'm falling for him", I replied . "Well are you ?", she said raising an eyebrow. "I don't know, I don't know what I feel and plus like I told Jacob I just met this guy !", I said putting my hands on my face. "Your overwhelmed baby girl", she said as I crashed into her lap and she comforted me. "I'm so confused", I murmured in a language only me and her would understand. "You know if I was an outsider I would of thought you said I'm so abused", she said as we both giggled. "I think you should try..try and give this guy a chance, you guys can take it slow you know? Just hang out and let him know your trying to figure it out", she said as I nodded. The word's "Figure it out" circled in my head for the rest of the night. I kept the image of the new boy in my head. Why did he have to come here ? All was good before his appearance. This is going to be either something good for me or something that's going to end up making me depressed.
