Brittly's Pov
I woke up to a loud humming, and covered my ears with my hands.
My eyes took a moment to adjust to the light, and I blinked to see my sister standing next to me.
"Where are we?" I shouted, but everything sounded like we were underwater, so I wasn't positive I said anything at all.
Ollie looked around and shrugged, and I began walking towards her.
We were in a bright white room, that was just a big cube. I thought I saw a door, and I pointed to it, but Ollie didn't see before the lights shut off.
"Ollie?!" I tried to yell above the humming, but I couldn't see or hear a thing.
It must have been a full minute before anything happened.
A computer lit up in the middle of the room, with a black screen, and green lettering.
I didn't see Ollie in here anymore, and I slowly made my way to the machine, reading the fine print.
"Answer these questions honestly and consistently to find your complex" I furrow my brows..
'Complex?'
I clicked start and a timer in the corner began falling, and memories of one of my old favorite games flickered in my mind.
Indefinite Interrogation.
I had spent countless hours memorizing answers and trying to improve my high score on that game.
Surely this wouldn't be as hard, since they were about me.
I answered questions first about personal things, age, family, friends.
Then there were more questions about what I would do in a certain situation.
What kind of person I was.
Where I see myself in 10 years, things like that.
I struggled on a lot of questions, but the timer only allowed me to give my instinctive answer.
After a while, the test ended, and "Analyzing" appeared on the screen in a big font.
I backed up, and as the screen changed, the loud humming stopped.
I squinted my eyes to read the page.
"Complex: Magnus"
I cock my head to the side, 'Magnus? Is that like Latin or something?'
Just as I am about to try to click something on the computer, the bright lights turned back on, and a big door similar to a garage door is agape.
My eyes sting, but I manage to make my way slowly out the door, on my guard for anything that could potentially harm me.
After my eyes adjust, I realize that I'm... outside?
But the place I'm in is different than Terre Haute.
This place is warm and dark and by the looks of it... Abandoned.
I begin to walk through the empty streets, no clue where I'm going.
I think I hear a bell, just before someone walking up behind me.
"Brittly. Follow me" a male voice whispers.
I turn around to see the back of a familiar figure.
"Eli...?" I whisper, but he turns away and starts running.
