Freshman year. A shy girl who walks into a big new school, only knowing three other people. She's scared, she's nervous, and she's intimidated. Afraid of having crazy upperclassmen in her two higher level classes, she walks the halls struggling to find her rooms. She walked into second period geometry, surprisingly enough, she couldn't tell who the upperclassmen were. She looked around nervously...Did I mention she didn't have any classes with any of her friends from middle school? Pretty much the whole year was a blur, except for one boy...
She can't remember the first time she heard his name, or even saw him. He was in her second period geometry, and her sixth period health/PE classes. She remembers the first time she ever heard him speak. It was health class, they were talking about their goals and he said, "I want to maintain at least a 2.0 GPA so I can play football and get a scholarship or go into the NFL." Back then, she didn't know it would mean anything to her. Now, she knows, he would change her life. She was better than him at math, and he would always try and compete with her, she found it intimidating even though she always had the higher score. She didn't even really start remembering these things about him until her sophomore year.
They say, "In every girl's life, there's the boy she'll never forget."
This is the story of Layla and Jake. He had become her boy that she'd never forget, no matter how hard she might want to try.
