This one is for obeystiles aka Leah.

"Do we have to take the elevator? We can just take the stairs!" Your best friend, Justin, complained as you walked towards the elevator. You spun around to face him, crossing your arms.

"Justin, we're on the 12th floor!"

"So? It's gonna be a long walk, but we'll make it down. Come on, Leah." He tried to reason with you. You shook your head.

"You have to get over your fear of elevators sooner or later," You said, pressing the button.

"I'm not scared of elevators! I'm scared of small spaces."

The door opened, revealing the small metal interior of the elevator. You walked in, Justin hesitantly followed after you. He took a deep breath as the door closed, dimming the lighting.

"I hate this," He muttered, as the elevator descended floors.

You were at the ninth floor, when the lights started to flicker. You and Justin simultaneously looked up at them, confused. Suddenly, the elevator came to an abrupt stop, the lights turning off and the quiet elevator music fading away.  The screen which read the floors turned black.

"Um, it's okay," You reassured, knowing that this was one of Justin's biggest fears.

"Fuck," He muttered, taking deep breaths.

"I'll just ring the bell button, and they'll get us out of here in no time." You said, pressing the button. Someone answered, and you told them the details through the speaker.

"Okay, it will be about three hours until we can get you out. Stay calm." They said, the line going dead.

"Three hours?" Justin panicked, and you couldn't see him because of the darkness caused by the lights turning off.

"Hey, it's gonna be fine."

"I can't be stuck here for three hours, I- I can't." You heard him mutter to himself, his voice becoming urgent.

You walked closer to his voice, being cautious.

"It's okay."

"No, no it's not. Nothing about this is okay." He stammered. You felt his breath picking up, he seemed to be getting worse.

"Justin, you need to calm down." You tried to spill reassurance into your voice, but it only came out as worried. You walked even closer to him, to the point where you almost felt his breath on your face.

"I-I think I'm...I think I'm having a panic attack." He breathed. You tried to think of ways to help him. For some reason, only one way came into your mind. Would it even work?

He began to stutter, drawing your attention back to him.

"I can't- this is too- I'm-"

Cutting him off, you took his face in your hands and pressed your lips onto his. You felt his whole body tighten, frozen against yours. You didn't expect it, but a warmth filled your chest at the feeling of his soft lips against yours. He unfroze and began kissing you back slowly, making your heart flutter. His lips moved slowly, barely even touching yours. You'd known Justin all your life, but you'd never in your wildest dreams imagined this moment. If you tried to imagine it before, it would have felt wrong. Right now, though, it felt undeniably right.

He broke the kiss, as your eyes fluttered open. You heard his breathing, and it wasn't as frantic as it was before. There was a charged silence, none of you making a sound. The romantic intensity you just felt a few minutes ago suddenly turned into awkwardness.

"I- um- why did you do that?" He finally said, as you bit your lip. You couldn't see him, so you couldn't read his face. Was he annoyed? Angry?

"Because, well, you were having a panic attack and I thought that if I did that, you would hold your breath. I don't know, I just thought it would work." You said, playing with your fingers. You had never felt so awkward around Justin before. Had you just ruined everything?

"Oh." He said, plainly.

"Yeah."

"Well, it did work." He added, making you sigh.

"That's good."

You sat down, pressing your back against the wall behind you. After a few seconds, you heard him shift. Soon enough, he was sitting next to you. You took out your phone and turned on the flashlight, and shone it on his face.

He squinted his eyes, adjusting to the light.

"Out of all the ways you could get me to hold my breath, " He started, pursing his lips. "You chose that one."

"Oh, um," You looked down at your lap, feeling a blush rise to your cheeks.

"I never imagined that we would kiss, Leah. I never imagined that I would like it, either." He said, a playful smile coming to his lips.

"Of course you liked it. I'm a great kisser." You said, happy that the mood was light again. He nodded his head knowingly, playing along.

"Wish I could say the same about you, though." You teased.

"Hey! I was in the midst of a panic attack, of course I wasn't going to be that great." He defended himself.

"Excuses, excuses." You waved your hand dismissively.

"If you want, I can show you how much of a great kisser I really am." He said, moving closer to you. You felt your heart beating faster.

"No one's stopping you."

He cupped your cheek with one hand, gently pushing you against the wall behind you. He crashed his lips onto yours, comfortably resting one hand on your thigh. He parted and closed his lips, as you occasionally felt his tongue. You were going crazy about him, the way he touched you. Your hands roamed his hair, brushing it between your fingers. Too soon, he pulled away, leaving you breathless. Your breathing was heavy as he smirked at you.

"Hm, how was that for a good kisser?"
