Poke
"Mmm" I groan.
"Sky wake up" I hear someone whisper.
"I'm busy sleepingggg" I whine.
"We are at school dummy, come on. I'll carry you if I have to." My best friend Blade chuckles.
"Grrr, fine" I stretch and open my eyes to see Blade only inches from my face.
"Morning beautiful" he smirks while staring into my blue eyes.
"Morning.." I blush uncontrollably and cover my face. Ugh why does he still make me do this. I've known him for years and he still has the same affect on me as he did when we first met... I thought.
"Come on cutie lets get off the bus." Blade smiles and gets up.
I get up and follow him off the bus and into the hell hole. Pft at least I have Blade....
We walk into the school and I poke Blades back. He turns around and smiles.
"Hmm?" He hums.
"Can we just skip today, I'm really not feeling it" I whisper quietly while staring at the floor.
"Yeah sure. I'm really not looking forward to today either. Let's take my car and just go some place?" He says while pushing my hair out of my eyes.
"Where should we go?" I ask, curiosity sparking in me slightly.
Blade smiles. Oh no what is he up to. "It's a surprise" he smiles at me and grabs my hand leading me out of the school.
"Ugh but I wanna know right nowwww" I whine and follow Blade to his car.
"Too bad kitten" he smirks.
I blush bright red from his nickname that he gave me a couple years ago.
"Oh, by the way the bus driver made me come wake you up this morning" Blade chuckles and gets in his car.
I get in too and he starts the car. "I figured..." I trail off and stare out the window as we pull out of the parking lot.
"Are you okay dear?...." He glances at me with concern written all over his face.
"I'm fine.." I lie.
"Don't give me that Sky. I've known you for years and I know when you're upset about something.." He says and grips the steering wheel tightly.
"I'll tell you later, okay?" I say, looking at him.
"Alright... I'm hear for you love and I don't want you upset.." He says with his voice barely above a whisper.
"Thank you... It really means a lot Blade." I say and look at my hands.
The car fills with a slightly awkward silence as we drive to where ever Blade had planned. I glance at him and bite my lip. I've had a crush on him for a long time and I honestly loved him.... Wait no I can't love my best friend.. I stare out the window. Ugh shut up Sky.. I sigh and then the car suddenly stops.
"We're here.." Blade says and looks at me.
Wow where the hell was my mind. I look out the window to see we are at Blades house. I smile slightly. Blade had his own house and it was cute. I didn't even notice that he had already gotten out and opened my door. Wow I was really zoning out way too much. I'm glad I didn't go to school today. Blade gives me a light smile and I get out.
"Let's just have a lazy day. Does that sound good?" He asks me while unlocking the door.
"Yeah that's perfect. I didn't get much sleep last night so I'm really tired..." I say following him inside.
"Why's that?" He says while poking my cheek repeatedly.
"Insomnia... And what are you doing ahah" I giggle and look at him amused by his childish behavior.
"I don't know ahah" he stops and laughs.
His laugh was so adorable and his smile brightened this cruel world. I laughed along with him and then stared at him basically just marveling at my best friend.
"Sooooo what ya wanna do Sky?" He asked and I snapped out of my thoughts. We sit on the couch and he pokes my leg.
"Oh um I don't know, we can just watch a movie if you want?" I stare down at my hands.
"That'd be great" he gives me a bright smile. Blade might seem like a really happy person but his life has not been the greatest and he always tries to be strong for me. He always tries to make me smile and laugh. I glance at the deep long scars on his arms. I frown.
"What?" He grabs my chin and makes me look into his eyes.
"It's nothing... I don't know" I gently run my finger across one of his scars. He frowns slightly and grabs my hand and holds it. I blush slightly and smile. He smiles back and he caresses my face with his other hand. I lean into his hand.
"Sky..." He whispers and trails off.
"Hmm?" I study his face.
"Nothing..." he pulls his hand away from my cheek and let's go of my hand.
I frown slightly. What's suddenly wrong with him?.. I thought. He gets up and pulls me up with him.
"Wanna do something fun?" He smirks and looks at me.
"Yeah? Sure haha" I laugh.
"Let's go!" He grabs my hand and pulls me out the door.
