The Fires Of Terror

"We're not going to make it!" I screamed through the fire burning all around us
"We can do it, just a few more steps and we're there!" screamed Eric
"A few?" I asked "We have an entire stair case to climb!"
"Well, think positive Aella!"

As soon as Eric said that, the beast appeared and slashed his arm, Eric fell into the flames...I had no time to run to him.. The monster was coming for me..
"Go Aella! Leave me" Yelled Eric through clenched teeth.
"I'll come back for you Eric! I promise!"
"Just go! Theres no time! Get the gem and go!" He yelled

I ran as fast as I could up the staircase, the flames burning my body and Eric moaning in pain. I grabbed the gem and put it in my backpack... I had to make a decision, go save Eric or leave him to burn... Just then I saw the beast going for Eric again, I made my decision and ran to him...

"Aella, no.. Just leave me" He yelled
"I can't Eric, not after all we've been through!" I Yelled, running for my life, the beast was quickly approaching him...

I made it to Eric and dragged him out of the fire, I struggled to pick him up but I did it and ran up the staircase once again.
We barley made it out in time, the opening caved in, if we would have gone through a few seconds later... Well there would be no us...

I ran to the river to take a closer look at Eric's wound, and it was bad... The gash was all the way up to his shoulder and it was bleeding lots...

"Aella, you should have left me." He said
"How could I have left you Eric, you're my brother..." I replied
"Your life was in danger, you didn't need to save me..." He said
"Well I did, and now we need to cover up that wound and get to camp" I said
"We don't have a camp Aella." He said
"Make on then?'' I replied

I dug through my backpack and found some clothes, they would have to do. I wrapped them around his arm and tied it up.

"There" I said
"Thanks" He replied
