Their Last Drive
One sunny afternoon, Bob and Barb decided to go to a fortune teller, who lived just one mile down the road. Bob thought it would be fun to see what their futures hold. When they got to the fortune teller, they sat down and the old lady looked at them strangely. Bob asked, "What?" The fortune teller replied, "I see a very confusing and scary future for the both of you." She continued to explain that they would soon have a son, who would kill Bob and marry Barb. The fortune teller explained that it was called the Oedipus Complex, when the son wants a desire with one of their parents. Barb looked alarmed.
As they were walking home, Barb said relievingly, "Well, at least I'm not pregnant!" Bob nodded, and they continued to walk without saying a word. They both really didn't believe the fortune teller, but a little part of them almost did.
The next morning, when Barb opened her eyes, she felt the need to throw up. She hurried to the bathroom and sure enough, she did. Bob rushed to the bathroom a few minutes later and gasped. "I can't believe it! Maybe the fortune teller was right. I am going to run to the store and get you a test, just to make sure." When Bob returned, Barb took the pregnancy test, and she realized she was, in fact, pregnant. "We must go to the hospital right away, so I can get an abortion." But when they got to the hospital, they realized the hospital had been shut down. The next closest hospital was about five hours away. They decided it would be worth it.
A little over five hours later, they got to the hospital in Calamari, Iowa. They saw a huge sign that said the hospital was also closed. Bob and Barb were so confused. There was one lady walking outside the hospital, so Barb walked up to the lady. Barb noticed the lady looked sick and was hardly moving, and then she realized what it was. She screamed, "A zombie!!" As Bob was sitting in the car, he heard her scream. As he looked over to see what was going on, the "lady" was grabbing Barb and taking her down. Bob didn't know what was happening. He got out of the car.
He ran as fast as he could over to Barb. Tears started streaming down his face. The love of his life was being eaten by a zombie! Bob pulled Barb from the lady and quickly drug her to the car and threw her in the backseat. He had now realized what had happened, it was the Zombie Apocalypse. He never thought he would live to see one. But now he knew; it was only a matter of time before his wife would evolve into one of those things.
He decided to pull over and see how she was doing. He saw she was bitten in the neck and the breast very badly. He pulled a gun from the glove box of the car and held it in his hands. He went to the backseat and set her head on his lap. She was unconscious at the moment, but that would change very soon. Tears started running again, as Barb's body started to move. Bob knew it was time. He kissed her face one last time and pointed the gun at her head. He said goodbye and pulled the trigger. He then pointed the gun to his head and said, "I just can't live without her." He then pulled the trigger again.
