Ashton's POV
"You play it too safe, bud." Calum said as I fixed the collar of his dress shirt, smoothing the wrinkles. We were in the hotel bathroom, after an evening full of happiness, laughter and champagne, which made me super emotional. I found myself crying when Nicole and Calum were exchanging vows, which was incredibly rare since it was the first time. I was moping around, eating the same food I've eaten every damn day because of stupid catering testing for the wedding. I couldn't focus for a long time before my mind wandered into a dark place, and I was just getting so sick of it.

I shook my head. "It hasn't been the same si- since... You know who."

"Bryana." A sharp pain hit me right in my chest as horrid flashbacks of the night floated around my head.

"Look," Calum sighed, placing his hands on my shoulders, giving me a look filled with sympathy. "You're my best friend. You're my best man, for god's sake. I can't just sit here watching you mope around like some blob fish when the whole world is ahead of you. You need to get out there, live life. You're a spontaneous man, my friend. You've got a lot of love in that heart, Ashton. Share it with the world. Find a girl that you can give that love to."

I stared at him, gulping. My voice wavered as I quietened down, rubbing my rough hands together. "It's really hard to love with your heart, when it's broken, a-and you're trying to piece it back up, but it won't work."

"Hey, Ashton. Look at me. I married Nicole today, and do you think a few years back, when I was in the most depressing stage in my life, I would have even imagined to find a girl like her? No. And buddy, you do play it too safe and I need you to go out there tonight and find a girl. You gotta get back in the game. And I can't help you do that. You need to help yourself."

I looked at the ground, and found myself nodding. "Thanks, Cal. Nicole really does bring out the best in you."

"Yeah," His eyes shone at the mention of her. "She does. Look, I've seen you talking to Milan and she's a really sweet and she's single. Well, I think she is. And I also think you should go for it."

I thought of Milan. She was really nice, incredibly fun to talk to, and she was really, really, REALLY pretty. She had these eyes you could get lost in forever, and lovely dark hair that flowed past her shoulders. And her body, don't even get me STARTED on her-

"Ashton! Did you hear anything I just said?"

"Huh? No, sorry."

"Just go. Go talk to Milan and see where things go! Don't waste the night, my friend." He gave me a stupid wink and sauntered out the door, calling for his newly wed wife.

Taking a long look in the mirror, I straightened my sleeves and fixed my hair. "You go Ashton. You can do this."

Walking out of the stuffy bathroom and scanning the area, I spot Milan sitting alone, eating a macaroon. She looked so beautiful right then and there, and it was no surprise my heart was beating incredibly fast, bashing against my ribcage like a bull charging against a red cape.

With a white dress fitted at the top but flowed from the waist down, she sat there elegantly, a lilac flower crown resting on her head. She looked like a princess.

Walking over, my hands sweating with nervousness, I sat in the chair beside her. "Hey Milan!"

"Hi Ash! How do you like the wedding?" She said, her eyes twinkling under the warm fairy lights that streamed across the ceiling. Her eyes carried the night sky, and I wanted to get lost in them forever.

"It's good! But I'm slightly tired, craving some non-wedding food."

She giggled, and god, it sounded heavenly. "Me too. I'm kinda sick of trying different finger foods for the past few weeks. I just want to eat some spicy instant noodles and ice creams. Not together though."

I nodded, a grin making it's way to my face. Ugh, I haven't smiled this big in so long. "Hey, do you wanna get out of here? We can go to the supermarket across the street and pick up some food, and get back to my room, I mean, only if you want, like, I'm not forcing you to-"

"I'd love to. Let's go." She said, and I swear my cheeks were as red as tomatoes as she clasped my hand, dragging me away.

Pushing Milan along in a shopping cart, I watched gleefully as her hands darted around, grabbing bags of chips and cookies as we made our way slowly down the aisle.

"Damn, I wasn't expecting you to be this hungry. And all this junk food surely will not go well in our beautiful bodies. Well, especially my beautiful body." I laughed, leaning over to look at the small mountain of foods in our cart.

"You were the one that offered!" She hit me with a bag of dried mangoes, her sound of her soft laugh filling my ears. God, my heart was hammering so hard against my chest it almost hurt to breathe.

I haven't felt like this in such a long time, but I couldn't lay my finger on what it was. My body was all warm and fuzzy when I was with Milan, and I felt as if I had unlimited happiness. Yet, there was a heavy feeling in my chest, and my entire body heaved when I inhaled, and it was hard for me to think straight.

She turned to look at me, the eyes I had grown to love staring right into mines. A slight blush crept onto her face as she looked down, a huge smile on her face. "I think this is about it."

God, she was so, so, SO cute.

Giggling, I leaned over again, using one hand to scan through what she had chosen. Suddenly, the trolley creaked, tipping over. Milan screamed, her hands against my chest as we both fell. It felt as if it was going in slow motion - our eyes interlocked just before we landed, and I realized what the familiar feeling bubbling at the bottom of my stomach was. Love.

I landed on top of her, a groan escaping both our mouths, curving into huge smiles. She was so beautiful when she smiled, and I wanted to her to be happy forever.

"Would someone who played it safe do this? I said, crashing my lips onto hers, the comforting feeling of our lips molding together buzzed through my body. And right there, surrounded by all the junk food you could imagine, our clothes all dirty and wrinkly, laughing our asses off, I knew she was the one.
