The wind blew through our fur as we worked our way through the dark forest. I watched as our leader signalled us to stop. But a new addition to the pack kept moving. Scar turned and growled at the newbie. She backed away her face full of fear. I moved towards her out of the sight of our leader. "Hey. Follow me." I whispered. She nodded appreciatively. "I'm jump" She mumbled. I nodded and the leader begun to move us forward.
As we approached a light in the distance, a snowstorm began to pick up. Only the toughest could survive these. I looked at jump and she was shaking. I dashed over to her and pushed her behind a tree "Stay here" I shouted in her ear. The light turned off and our leader ran at full pelt towards where it was as we pushed through the snowstorm. I poked out in front of the pack and followed the leader. He stopped and I pulled up behind. "Sir" I said beckoning to the left. There was 4 wolves prowling. My mastee nodded and began to rhn at them. I sprinted along side him. Before I knew it I was at them. I pounced. Flying on to the very left wolf blood spurting all over my legs. He toppled over and I turned to a face full of claw. I ducked and clawed at his his chest blood spurting on my face and my eyes. I wiped the blood and looked over to the leader. The other 2 were dead.
The walk home was long and tiring. My cheek was bleeding furiously but I had been trained to ignore the pain. We had just reached home and I had forgotten jump. "Jump?" I yelled. No reply. I turned to the leader and he nodded. I shook my head and turned to run out into the forest. I ran for what seemed like days. I arrived at the tree that I had left Jump. She lay there with a cut through her leg. I picked her up on my back grunting and started to run home. I reached home and collapsed.
I awoke to Jump sitting next to me. "Jump? I'm so sorry. I didnt remember you being there."
She shrugged "Just dont leave me next time"
I nodded and got up. "The leader has told me to teach you if your going to stay in this pack" She nodded a bit. "its late onions" she said "I think im going to bed."
"Yeah" I say. "Sorry Im on guard" I get up and walk to my post sighing on the way. My gash had slightly healed over and I whinced with every step. I lay down at my post and perked my head up. A long night was ahead of me.
I awoke to a growl. The starry night was covered by white and then a shimmer of black reflecting off a claw. Across my face it. I puahed upwards and slashed at the air catching on flesh. A whine came from my left then the thud of at least 20 paws. I stood up to see I was surrounded. 5 of the Salike pack had surrounded me with their teeth flashing. I readied myself for an attack. One behind me pounced. I spun around and clawed through his neck. He lay lifeless on the snow. I turned to the others as they ran at me in a group. Rows of claws came at me. I slashed my way through 2 others only to be caught by a claw. I fell and balcked out.
