My name is Rachel Key. I have two brothers; Collins and Devan. Collins is the oldest, then Devan, then me. We all have our own unique talents; Devan sketches, Collins is a magician and I sing and act. The three of us get along most of the time. The only time we don't is when is when we want to watch something on Nextflix. We all have different shows we like to watch. The only show that we watch together is 'Friends'. We watch a good few movies each weekend too. My personal favourite is Jurassic World. Collins is the only one out of the three of us who has finished his education. Devan still has one year left and I have 3 years left. According to my mam, we all get good grades. I love to learn but the one thing I don't like about school is that I get bullied quite a lot by other students in my grade. I get called names, nasty and irrelevant comments are given to me, I get dirty looks and people bully me online. The only person that helps me get through each day is my best friends, Jess. Devan always goes to look for me everyday at lunchtime. He lets me and Jess sit with him and his friends in the cafeteria. I think I'm getting lucky because the bullies in my grade are transferring to another school next semester. I gave a lot of fun chatting to Devan's friends; Conor, Olly, George, Ryan and Felix. In the cafeteria, the tables are circular. We always take the same table and sit in the same places. The table we intake is right beside the door to go outside. The seating arrangement goes; Devan, me, Jess, Felix, Ryan, Olly, Conor and George. Since we are allowed our phones during lunch, I text Collins at the same time everyday (1:30pm) to let him know how my day has gone so far. This is how our conversation usually starts off:
Devan: So Rach, how's it going today?
Rachel: The same I guess. I think it's safe to say that no one likes me.
Felix: Cheer up Rachel. We're your friends. Those people don't know what they're missing. Your an amazing person and don't let other people tell you otherwise.
Rachel: Awwww, thanks Felix. I love you guys too!
Jess: Hey, we better line up to get our food, I'm starving.
Rachel: Yeah me too, let's go!
Devan: (pulls my arm back) Wait Rachel, what about the lunch mom made for you this morning?
Rachel: She still thinks she's making making lunch for Collins. She gave me a scrambled egg sandwich, you know eggs make me gag!!!
Devan: Fair enough.
Myself and Jess go to line up to get our food. While we are in the que, the bullies start walking towards us. I ignore them and continue sling to Jess. I look over to see Devan and the others look to see what is going to happen next. The bully, of course, stops and starts talking trash to me.
Jade: Hey geek, I thought your idiot brother or your bodyguard would be the one to escort you to get your five-course meal.
Rachel: Leave me alone Jade. And don't call my brother an idiot again or I'll..... (Jade interrupts me)
Jade: Or you'll what? Hit me? Everyone knows you're too big of a wimp to do that. (Jade movies closer to me)
I can see in the corner of my eye that Devan is getting ready to get up. I give him a quick shake of my head to tell him not to come over. He stays put. I go blank. I can't think of anything else to say. Jess knew well I couldn't think of anything to say, so she stepped in.
Jess: Ok, I've had it with you and your shinanigans! (cafeteria goes quiet) You think you're so cool with your big group of "wannabe-popular song" trying to get think whole school to like you, well it's not gonna happen! And don't you ever pick on Rachel ever again! You won't get as near to the 25.5K followers on Instagram and a worldwide hit TV show.
Devan makes his way over and backs me and Jess up.
Devan: (puts his hand on my shoulders) And I'll have you know that Rachel here, has a no.1 single on the us Top 10 Chats for 2 months in a row and counting. Did I also forget to mention that it's her first ever single?!?
I look up to Devan, smile, the look over and smile at Jess. Devan nods at me. I know what that mean...! I take a step forward and say....
Rachel: In yo face, bitch! So next time you think about messing with me then think again! If it happens again, I'll get Collins into deal with you and you know what he's like! Now if I were you, I'd leave, before I make you leave!
Jade makes a run for the door because she know how tough Collins is.
One Jade left the room, everyone cheered along with the teachers on supervision, the students and Jess and Devan. I hugged Devan and Jess and kissed Devan on the cheek. Devan went red!! You could hear everyone chanting my name. It was and amazing feeling and for once I actually felt like I belonged in that school ever since I joined.
I was excited to tell Collins about what happened. Myself and Devan talked about on the way home from school that day. Once I reached the house, I burst through the front door.
Rachel: Collins, Collins, you'll never guess what happened today?!?
Devan: Rachel, tell him. Bro, you won't believe what our little sister did?!?
Collins: I'm listening...
Rachel: I stood up to Jade.
Collins: (shocked) What? No way?!?
Devan: Yes way!
Collins: Awwww sweetie, I'm so proud of you! (hugs her)
Rachel: (hugs him back) Thanks! But I did have a little help. (turns to Devan) Impwe most of it to Jess and Devan. I know I have said it a million times today but, thank you, Devan, for everything. I love you so much. (kisses him on the cheek again)
Devan: Awwww your very welcome, that's what big brothers are for! (hugs her tight)
The three of the have a big, long group hug.
