Elaine got dressed and Sam put his shirt on. Dean was already asleep in the car. Eventually, the two love birds fell asleep. Sam couldn't sleep comfortably, though. Around three in the morning, Sam's phone went off. He reached into his pocket and fumbled to flip it open. Very quietly, he stepped out of the car and shut the door. Dean had heard Sam's phone go off and watched Sam get out of the car and into the night.
"Hello..... Ruby I- I told you I was done with you and your little charade. Your stupid little "health" drink to make me stronger is making me weaker........hold on let me put you on speaker, I can't hear you. "
"Listen Sam. You need my blood to be strong. If you don't have me t-"
Sam was yelling now. "RUBY NEVER CALL ME AGAIN. I DO NOT WANT YOU! GOODBYE!"
Then line went dead and Dean watched as Sam tried to creep back into the Impala. With his arms folded across his chest, he stared at Sam intently. Sam turned to see Dean and let out a breath that said "Shit!"
For a few minutes, the Winchesters sat in silence staring straight ahead. Dean wasn't sure if he should be the one to talk first. But he could tell Sam wasn't going to ,so he jumped the gun.
"What was that about," Dean asked.
"This bitch thought I needed a refill."
"A what?!"
"A refuel of her blood. She thinks it makes me stronger. And it's not. It's making me weaker. "
"You mean to tell me that you drank demon blood?!"
"Honestly I didn't think it would effect me. Especially since.... Yeah you know."
Dean shook his head and said "you know what I don't care. Thats all I asked for was the truth and I got it (Dean was talking to himself). Now get some rest."Sam pulled off his jacket and covered his abdomen and chest.

The next morning...
Dean rubbed his eyes and saw the sun shining straight into his eyes. Sam was passed out in the passenger seat. He turned around and Elaine was missing. Panicking, he flung the door open and saw her packing all of their things together.
"Good Mornin' Dean!"
"Morning! Umm you kinda scared me."
"Why?"
"I woke up and thought you were missing," his voice trailed off.
Oh God, does Dean have feelings for me? I don't want to hurt him especially if I don't end up staying with them.

"Oh. So are we eating breakfast at the diner downtown?"
"Well hun, we have to get back to town first."
She gave him a fed up look. He chuckled. She sat down in a nearby log and stared off into the sunrise. He took a seat somewhat close to her. She looked from her peripheral vision and saw him looking at her. She turned to him.
"Can I ask you something Dean?"
"Surre?"
"Do y-Do you think that Sam... Never mind. "
"Yes he does have feelings for you. And honestly they are very strong. He loves you like he loves me."
"Oh. How did you know I was going to ask that?"
"I can see the way you look at each other. It's special. I'm not sure he's going to be able to let you go."
"Yeah about that. So I was thinking, you know how you or Sam always look for some job to work on?"
"Yeah. How did y-"
"Well Dean, that's not important but what if I did that for you all? And if you needed an extra hand I could be there? I've been taught everything. My father was amazing at teaching. Please please please!"
Dean thought she was too cute to resist. He nodded yes and she threw he arms around him and held him for a minute. He quickly gave it back to her. The sun hadn't fully risen yet and it was still dim outside. They let go of each other after what felt like a second to Dean. He looked at her and the way her low cut pajama shirt was. And how her shorts showed the slightest bit of her lower backside. He leaned closer and pushed her on the sand.
Elaine was not sure what to do. She tried with all her strength to push him off. He knew she was trying to get him off. He stopped. He didn't want to push himself too far. She stared, bewildered for a moment. Then she composed her face. She got up. Dean was still trying to grasp what he did. It was like instinct. She stalked past him. Dean was not mad at himself, just shocked and impressed. He thought of himself as the sly fox in the situation.
A moment later she turned around and smacked him.
"Don't you ever do that to me again!"
Dean's heart was racing with excitement.
She hopped in the backseat of Baby and motioned for Dean to come on.

Dean took his hand and rubbed it through Sam's hair like you would a dog. Sam woke up and smacked Dean's hand. The look Sam gave Dean was saying payback is coming for you.
"So Elaine, where do you want us to drop you off," Sam asked glumly.
"Well Sam, I mentioned it to Dean while you were sleeping. You know how you and Dean spend half your time looking for jobs?"
Sam just realized how she had the slightest southern accent. All he could do was nod.

"I could do that for you and when you needed help I could help you,"she smiled.
Sam was jumping with joy on the inside. "Dean I'm fine with that if you are."
"I can't wait to have our little helper," he said jokingly, knowing that she would get mad.
Sure enough when he turned around, she was fuming. Her face was red and she was pissed. Dean cracked up with laughter. Sam watched and he knew that look in his brothers eyes. It was a mixture of lust and love. Sam's expression saddened. Elaine realized and tried to think of something happy.
"So boys, where do we sleep? Or do we just stay on the road 24/7?"
"We are on our way to our 'safe place' if you will."
"Oh. Okay whatever that is," she mumbled under her breath.

It took about eight hours to get from Chandler, Arizona to Illinois. Dean and Sam traded off every few hours when they would stop for gas and food (for Dean). Sam slept for an hour or two, as did Elaine. Dean couldn't sleep. He couldn't get his mind off what had happened that morning in the desert. The way she fiercely threw her hand at him and her tight Metallica t-shirt. It went about two and a half inches below her collar bone. When they got back, he knew Sam would go get groceries or something, he would get her then. It was time for Dean to drive. Sam and Dean switched spots quietly, not waking Elaine. Dean got in "his" seat and said "hey baby!"
Sam rolled his eyes and chuckled.

Elaine was tired. She was very deep in sleep when they arrived. At the time, she was dreaming. It was about her and Sam. It was about three years into the future. She and Sam were at their favorite spot, the lighthouse on the lake. It was sunset and Valentines Day. She was babbling about how pretty the sky and view were. Sam kissed her on the lips. It was a long, slow, powerful one. The way their lips moved together. How he interlocked his with hers and the warmth of his breath on her face. She broke it and whispered, "that's the best way to shut me up." In her sleep, she could feel her cheeks get hot and turn to a grin. As she said that, Sam pulled a soft, violet, velvet box out of his khaki pants. He bent down on his right knee. She smiled and tears welled in her eyes. He opened his mouth to say the words, just as she heard the Winchesters yelling her name telling her to wake up. They were home.
