"Jolie!" My mom shouts from the base of the stairs. "Hurry up! Beau is waiting!"
"One minute!" I yell back.
"Jo! Let's go!" Beau's voice calls. I head steps coming up the stairs. I jog across my room and slam my door closed.
"Beau, wait a minute." I say in a hushed tone. "I don't have a shirt on!"
"Oh it's not like I've never seen you in a bathing suit." He chuckles as he turns the door nob.
It's true. But bras aren't the same thing. And he's seen me shirtless before but things change on the human body in 12 years.
"Fine. But I'm dressed anyways." I smile at him as I skip past him leaning in the door frame.
"Whatever. I'll be waiting." He shakes his head and walks down the steps.
I skips down the stairs and retrieve my bag."Bye mom." I walk past her and pick up an apple from the bowl in front of her.
"Bye Jolie! Bye Beau! Have fun at school!" She coos as I slam the door behind me.
I walk out onto the gravel drive way and Beau is sitting on his truck with a smile plastered on his face. He turns and I see his phone by his ear. Probably one of his 'girl friends' that only last a week.
I walk towards him and he says goodbye and quickly wipes the smile off his face.
"What?" I ask him. "You know you don't have to lie to me."
"Jo, forget about it."
"Okay...."
"Hey wanna sleepover tonight?" He pipes up smiling.
"Hmm better ask mom first.." I play hard to get.
"Has Dawn ever said no?"
"No, but you never know." I pretend to be disappointed when my phone chimes.
"What?" He asks
"She said no." I try not to laugh as his hurt look over takes his smiling face.
"Damn I was even going to let you pick what we binge watch.." He shakes his head.
Our school is weird instead of starting after Labor Day they make us go for one day and give us a four day weekend.
"Wait really?" I say excitement in my voice, he never lets me pick.
"Did I stutter?"
"No- I'll ask again..."
We turn out of my drive way and onto the dirt road. I've always enjoyed living in the middle of nowhere. Nobody to bug you or disturb you. I swear the only reason why we moved from the city is so we wouldn't disturb anyone..

"What do you expect me to do, Andrew?" My mothers hushed tone wafts up stairs."I don't know figure it out." Even as a whisper his voice is still loud.
I curl up on my bed and hug my pillow tight. This is going to be a long night.
"How can I tell her you changed your mind about us!" My moms voice is tight.
"It's not my problem anymore. Don't you remember you were the one who wanted her, not me." His words sting. I feel hot tears threatening to spill down my face.
