I just had to sneak a peek. Nothing was harder for me to resist than chocolate and surprises. This particular surprise was the most important one in my life so far. I was what my wedding would look like.

Ok, so it wasn't 100% a surprise. Of course I had some preferences. I mean, it is my wedding after all. My mother was my wedding planner. She is also my rock and most important best friend. Therefore, all she had to do was ask a few key questions. She then took the answers and ran with her imagination.

I peeked into the church sanctuary. Flowers were everywhere. There were all different kinds of red and white flowers with black accents artfully arranged. There were red and white bows with black tails making a trail up the aisle do I couldn't get lost. At least, that's what happened when my older sister had her wedding to find out who her mate was.

That's right. Mate. Me, my family, and the while town almost are werewolves. We find our mates by having a wedding for the bride, but the groom is chosen by a special person we call the Match Maker. They are apart of our pack, always male and have the mate seeing power. This power is passed down to the next male in the next generation. There's no telling which male has this gift until the previous Match Maker has passed on.

The current Match Maker just so happens to be my Uncle Linn. I've been trying to get him to tell me who he saw as my mate, but he never even so much as hinted who it was. I was dying to know who it might be. Was he somebody I am already close to? Is he the boy I have had a crush on for the past 2 years, Zayn Anders? Oh, I sure hope so?

"Mia James! You are supposed to be in your room being pampered by your friends. What? You couldn't wait, could you?"

My mother just knows me. I was caught red handed and open mouthed. I just shrugged and replied, "Oh, you know me mom. Of course I couldn't wait." I tried to have an innocent look, but I knew that she didn't believe it for one second.

"Ok, you've peeked. Now it's time you headed back to your room to get ready. Everything is almost ready, so you should be too."

"Ok mom. I'm going. I'm going." I headed back to our house which was just up the block. I still had five or six hours before the earliest guests would arrive.

As soon as I walked into the house no less than ten people pounced on me. My two best friends were first, followed by two cousins, my sister and two brothers, two uncles and my dad. The only thing I heard was one question, but everybody was asking. "Where have you been?"

I made a good choice to face my dad when I answered. "You all knew exactly where I went. I went to the church. I just had to see the decorations there. I saved the reception to be a surprise for my mate and I. I think that's reasonable." I was shooting for an innocent look when I gave my logically answer while twisting my fingers together.

"Alright Miss Curiosity. Go upstairs and start getting ready. I know you're excited, but please cooperate with the team that is here to help you and the girls."

  "Okay, daddy."

I was just getting the finishing touches when there was a knock at the door and my mom walked in. She took one look at me and started tearing up. "No tears mom. It will ruin our make up," I laughed while I fought back my own set of tears.

"I just can't believe my baby is going to be getting a mate, moving out and starting the next part of her life. I still remember when you and Leila would play your bride and groom game in the backyard with your brothers. Well, at least when you weren't wrestling them to ground to keep them in one place for more than two seconds," she said with a slightly watery smile. "You're all grown up. It just happened so fast. In the blink of an eye really."

" know mom, but I wouldn't have made it this far if it wasn't for you and dad. Do you know who my mate is?" I just had to know. One last ditch effort to see if anybody could tell me.

"Now you know better than that. Your uncle doesn't reveal that kind of secret to anybody. No matter how he is bribed. And trust me when I tell you that your dad and I  have tried relentlessly to bribe him."

We both laughed. I already knew he wouldn't tell anybody, but it sure helped to lighten the mood between me and my mom. Yea, I am crafty like that.

Finally it was time to go to the church. We entered after all the guests had be cleared from the foyer. Then we waited for the music to start and for my cue to enter the sanctuary. As soon as the song started to play, my dad walked me in and we froze just inside the doors. There wasn't a groom to be my mate.

I had only a short 30 seconds that felt like eons before my uncle popped his head out of the choir room and asked for just one minute. I looked at my father who shared the same dumbfounded look that I had on my face. What the heck was going on? Just as I had that thought, my uncle came out while helping my crush for the past two years put his tie on while Zayn straightened his jacket.

When I reached Zayn he got his first real look of me. He gave me the full look over, I was surprised. I knew I was surprised to see him, but was he surprised it was me or was there something else going on in his head? How was I going to find that out in front of all these people?
