Because only one person knew that they had a twin, and that person was Sirius Black. Later Sirius came. Finally he saw her, Arielle Lily Potter. He scooped her up, tears escaping his eyes. He wanted to see her grow up, yet he knew he couldn't. People should be searching for him by now. Deciding that the best bet would be to leave het behind by someone.
