[ Diagon Alley & The Weasleys. ]
-> prologue

* * *
Evanna woke up extra early the morning after Professor Dumbledore's visit, (which was uncommon for the girl, as she usually sleeps in), as she was expecting a witch to take her to Diagon Alley to get her school supplies. Evanna was extremely excited, today is the day she would come into contact with the wizarding world! She woke up, got dressed and brushed her medium-length platinum blonde hair.

After eating breakfast and brushing her teeth, she had some time to spare, so she sat in her favourite chair by the fireplace and read her book. A while later, the same woman from yesterday approached Evanna, letting her know that a woman was here from the 'boarding school', when in reality it was the witch Professor Dumbledore sent to take her to Diagon Alley.

The lady seemed nice, she was older, and had her grey hair in a bun. She was wearing robes, and Evanna could tell the helpers at the orphanage found this unusual by the looks they would shoot at her.

"Hello, you must be Evanna! I am Professor McGonagall, shall we get going?"

"Hello," Evanna said. "And yes, of course! Lead the way."

Together they left the orphanage, and walked inside a pub in London called 'The Leaky Cauldron" Evanna was confused as to why they would be in a pub, but then she remembered that they are wizards, and they probably have a passage into the wizarding world through it. Sure enough, she was right. Her and Professor McGonagall walked into a separate room, filled with vines hanging on the white painted brick walls, and barrels and wine bottles on the floor.

"Alright," Professor McGonnagall said to Evanna in a hushed voice. "This may sound strange, but I need you to walk through that wall right there. Once you're through, wait for me. Then we'll get your supplies."

Evanna nodded and did as she was told. Sure enough, it worked. She walked through the barrier between muggle and wizarding worlds, and was in an alleyway. She walked out of the alley and looked around at her surroundings. She could tell she was in Diagon Alley from the shop names and the abundant amount of wizard families rushing around trying to get all of their supplies. After looking around in awe, Professor McGonnagall walked up to her from the alleyway and said,

"Incredible, isn't it?" She said with a smile.

"It's beyond incredible!"

"Alright, let's go get your supplies! Do you have the list?"

Evanna handed her the list as McGonagall went on to say,

"Okay, I think first we should get you a brand new pair of robes, and then next we can get you your wand, a pet of your choice-"

"I'm sorry to interrupt, Professor McGonagall, but how exactly am I paying for these? I don't exactly have any type of wizarding money...."

"Ah! I almost forgot.." She said grabbing a bag of what sounded like coins from her own. "Professor Dumbledore got this from your parents' vault at Gringotts Bank, after they died you got all their money."

"My parents were wizards too?"

"Yes. They were gr-"

Professor McGonagall was interrupted by an owl flying in front of her with a letter attached to its talons. She have it a quizzical look, then took the note from the owl. So that's how they communicate in the wizarding world. Evanna thought.

"It's from Dumbledore," Professor McGonagall said. "I can tell by the writing on the front. Here, let's sit down on a bench."

Evanna sat down with her as she read the letter from Dumbledore. Evanna looked around at Diagon Alley once more. She saw a store called 'Eeyloops Owl Emprium' she decided to walk over to it and look at the Owls in the window. She poked Professor McGonagall and made a gesture towards the shop to let her know she was going over there. When she looked up at Evanna, she had a worried expression on her face. She hoped everything was okay, and that she wouldn't have to cut her trip here short.
