"Dibs on front seat." Samson claimed. First, I was hit by an 11 pound dodgeball by Georgina, second, I found out I wasn't on an actual date, and third, I AM STAYING AT THE BACK SEAT WITH CODY, NOT JAKE.
"No, are you kidding me? I'm staying there." Cody fought for the seat.
"Guys, Linna is staying in front." Jake said.
Well, it wasn't totally horrible, I guess. We all got settled in and drove."Jake, where are we going?" I asked.
"Yeah, Jake where are we going?" Samson repeated, smirking.
"Starbucks." Jake answered.
"Aweeeee.... That sucks." Samson whined.Starbucks? Seriously? 'This day couldn't get worse.' I thought.
When we arrived at Starbucks, I only had a dollar left. Since it wasn't a date, that meant I was paying for my drinks. Oh, shizzle. This was stupid.
"I'll take the Espresso and some almond cookies." Cody ordered.
"I'll have a decaf latte." Samson ordered.
"I'll just have some hot chocolate and a slice of black forest." Jake ordered.
I stood there silent, waiting for them to finish.
"What about you?" The cashier asked.
"I'm good." I answered.
"Make that two hot chocolates and 2 slices of black forest, ma'am." Jake ordered.
That time, I had doubts that the food he ordered was for me. I don't understand this guy. Who knows, it might be for his other friend who will be coming just when I would be ready to eat.
"That'll be $30.45, sir."
The guys spilt the money and paid.
"Can I get a name?"
"Name all of them Linna."
I didn't know if naming coffee, "Linna" was a way of flirting or laziness. We sat at a table near the window.
"Linna, if I might ask, where did you and Jake meet?" Cody asked.
"School Paper."
"No, it was at Chemistry." Jake answered.
"Oh, yeah."
Cody and Samson stared at us, smirking.
"What's up with you guys?" I asked.
"Pshhhh...nothing." Samson answered. "Depends, what 'chemistry' is happening to you guys?" He continued maliciously.
"What? Bruh, CHEMISTRY CLASS!" Jake replied.
I couldn't help but blush a bit. Then, I snapped back to reality. HE DOESN'T LIKE ME.
"So, Jake..... When are we going to ask her?" Cody asked.
"Cody, not a good time, bro." Samson advised.
I raised an eyebrow and looked at them suspiciously.
"Jake, what do they mean?" I asked.
"These hooligans?" He pointed at Cody and Samson. "Well, I guess we could tell you now."
I was very confused. 'What do they want with me' I thought. Did they have mischievous tricks up their sleeves?
"Well, Linna. We have been observing you for a week now. We think you are the perfect girl for this 'experiment'." Cody said seriously.
I couldn't tell whether they were joking or serious. 'Experiment'? Seriously?
"You are the perfect subject for our 'Queen A' experiment." Samson said.
They were making no sense. Was I going to be a test monkey for their science project?
"Linna, we know about your friends and Georgina giving you a hard time." Cody said out loud.
WOW. STALKER MUCH.
"Guys, you need to take some meds." I joked, thinking of this as one big joke. "Also, stalker much."
"Look, we are trying to find someone who can outshine Georgina Hemsworth." Jake said.
I honestly felt like laughing the shizzle out. 'If they were trying to trick me, I am not that gullible.' I thought. Let's all be realistic, they sounded crazy.
"Hypothetically speaking, you want me to outshine an athlete, model, pretentious queen and THE BIGGEST BRAT IN SCHOOL?" I queried.
"We think you can do it." Jake replied.
I laughed historically. "Good one guys. How did you know about my friends and Georgina, anyway?" I asked.
"We're great stalkers. I hope you're ribs are okay. That must've been painful." Cody pointed out.
"Very. Also, where on earth is the food?" I just realized we stayed in the cafe for about 10 minutes already and we didn't receive anything.
"CAN YOU LISTEN?!" Jake shouted. I was quiet startled and shocked. Customers were looking at us, shushing the heck out of their time.I never expected that from a cool guy. Was this 'experiment' that important to them.
"Linna, listen." Samson repeated. I shut my mouth and looked down, ashamed. This is probably why I didn't have any friends.
"Georgina has done a lot of horribly unforgivable things. She's doing this because she knows the school's adoration for her will never grow out. Undeniably, it was the truth. We want someone to stand up for those who are victims of her cruelty. Alinna Chase, we believe in you. Learn to believe in yourself." Samson's speech was flattering but there were 100 reasons why I couldn't believe in myself. There were a million reasons why I wasn't the girl they were looking for. They needed an independent, confident and interesting, not me.
"You got the wrong girl." I said undeniably.
"Linna, please." Jake pleaded. His eyes were so sympathetic, I couldn't resist. He was too attractive.
"I thought you wanted to defend people. Was I wrong?" Cody queried.
"I-I do-don't know anymore." I stuttered.
"Linna, it's just an experiment." Cody attempted to convince. After full consideration, I thought of the pros and cons then, it hit me.
'What if Georgina's greatest fear was someone better.'
'There's got to be something better than Queen B, right?'"I'll try." I said, causing a victorious smile on everyone's faces.
"AT A GIRL!" Jake shouted, but this time, beaming. People shushed him and rolled their eyes at us, teenagers.
"We're going to start the making of Queen A tomorrow." Cody announced. We were so caught up in "Queen A" that we almost forgot about the food.
"Ummmm..... our food?"
