It was July and the sun was beating down on a field filled with colored flowers giving it a golden glow. The sounds of birds chirping in the trees meant that there was no danger lurching in the shadows in the near by forest, the leaves in the trees rustled in the slight breeze. It was a warm day and the king and his two sons were on their way to the Lake of Crescent Moon, riding on their horses from the royal stables and guards by their sides they rode until the got to their destination. A mercenary was following them but with a distance watching their every move prepared to kill anything and anyone that would attack the royal family. The lake was a beautiful aquamarine blue that glistened when the sun hit the surface of the water, the two boys got off of their horses and walked to the edge of the water delighted at its magnificence. Hemea the youngest of the two boys took off his shoes and walked into the water and sighed with relief as his over heated toes were cooled off by the cold water, he lifts up his head and looks at the sky and smiles due to the fact that it was such a nice day. Prince Akoda the oldest of the two decided to strip off his clothes other than his shorts and jumped into the water letting it run over his body and letting the cold take him away from the day's heat. Swimming in the water made his fears fade and he had no worries and just let the water wash over his mind freeing him from anything negative.
A loud roaring sounded and it wasn't very far, the mercenary with her weapon ready in hand. A dragon appeared out of the sky and flew down to the lake searching for something to dine on. Landing on its hind legs it flapped its wings and a huge gust of wind flew towards the guards leaving them flying back and defenceless, the king ran to the water and grabbed his sons and started to run with them both in his arms when the dragon stopped him in his tracks. The mercenary hopped out of the trees and out of nowhere a sword appeared by her side, and she ran towards the dragon. the dragon's attention was then pulled away from the king and his boys to the little mercenary girl, it maneuvered its body swinging around to face her, and with one single blow from the little girl's sword the dragon was dead. The king didn't get to see her face due to the black hood hiding her face. After the dragon was slain the girl took the largest claw off of the dragon's foot and put it in a small container and looked at the king and his sons and handed the claw to the king, the king looked at the girl in amazement and out of her pocket she pulled six dragon scales and gave three scales to each son. " These will be luck charms, not everyone gets a dragon scale and lives to tell the tale" and the girl smiles. She started to walk away, "wait before you go, whats your name?" prince Akoda asked her, "my name is Kriiyolsil" and then the girl disappeared.
The family went back to the kingdom and the guards were tended to, and as the sons when to their rooms that night Akoda couldn't help but to think of the girl and knew that he would never forget her, still holding the dragon scales he said her name, "Kriiyolsil".
