Teagen stared at Mr. Gallows, her eyes wide with fear and confusion.
"I...I am a HUMAN not a.......machine."
Mr. Gallows laughed.
"What is so funny!?" she said her eyes watering.
"It amuses me that you know so little." he responded.
He became silent and stared with his lone eye at Teagen. Mr. Gallows started to speak again.
"You are not a human and never will be. Don't you see! You sparked a whole new world of technology! An android with human qualities."
"I have a family, emotions..."
"All memories and emotions were put on your data base.", he said interrupting her. "And for your family, I gave you to them promising a revolutionary technology. They accepted and raised you as a human along with their two children. Not to mention you are the only android that can grow, mature and change appearance. You are so human-like that when I built you, your were covered with real human skin, given human hair, eyes, and a human heart to store your data base. Where would I get such things you may ask. This building was built next to a cemetery and the materials were donated from the dead and if I run out, I could always take bodies from the living. I mean some people are just worthless pawns; their lives don't matter. Only important people such as I deserve to live."
Teagen was speechless. Her whole life was a lie. A total lie. She touched her skin and shuddered as she began to feel sick.
"Teagen", Mr. Gallows said., "Do you want to live the rest of your infinite life pretending you are human as you eventually outlive your family or do you want to be the greatest machine ever created?"
Anger burned in Teagen's eyes. She couldn't believe the information that was dumped on to her. She raised her hand and slapped Mr. Gallows across his face as hard as she could. His nose began to bleed from the impact of her hand.
"Well." he said grinning as blood dripped on to the desk.
"I guess I will give you time to think about the decision you have to make."
"No thinking has to be done."  Teagen said her voice lowering.
"You say that now, but you will come to your senses." Mr. Gallows said, wiping the blood from his face with a cloth that he took from his pocket. He waved his hand signaling for her to leave. Teagen was too shaken to say another word. She walked quickly to the elevator. Teagen stepped inside and pressed the button for the first floor as tears rolled off her cheek.
