(forget about the updating on a routine, I'll just update when I have a chap ready)
"Hey, Annie, where are we going?" Rin managed to say as she was being dragged by the cheerful and clearly happy girl.
"As a way of showing my thanks for hanging out with me today, I'll show you a place! It's my secret place!" Annie said and smiled enthusiastically.
"Yeah, that's okay but..." Rin looked around her, "you sure this is the way?"
"Of course!" but then she whispered to herself, "even though I haven't come here in a lot of days..."
Rin was confused. They were walking in a narrow alleyway. The buildings were rusty and there was hardly anyone there. The floor had junk and looked like they had not been cleaned for centuries. It was a very remote area.
Rin stopped.
"What is it?" Annie asked.
"Someone's coming. I can hear footsteps"
"Huh..Wha-" Rin covered Annie's mouth. "We need to run"
And with that Rin grabbed Annie's hand and started running forward.
'Where they following us?' she thought.
Rin had her eyes behind them and wasn't looking forward, which caused her to hit a wall, hard.
"You okay??" Annie asked, but was careful to keep her voice low as she understood the situation.
"A dead end?" Rin asked, slightly surprised.
"I'm sure it was here..." Annie whimpered.
Rin touched the wall. It was sort of clean, and so stood out from the rest of the atmosphere.
"The wall is new" Rin said. "So they built a wall here..." Annie said sadly, mostly to herself.
Rin grabbed Anne's hand again. 'They're coming' she whispered.
Annie started panicking internally, but Rin remained calm.
The footsteps grew closer and now even Annie could hear it.
And finally the figure closed in.
They were 3 guys, each holding a bat and had cigarettes and wild clothing.
"Wha'cha doin' 'ere, sweathearts?" the man in the middle asked.
Rin covered Annie behind her back protectively. "I'd like to ask the same question" she said.
"This is our turf. Ain't nobody else a'lowed 'ere. Ya don' belong 'ere kids." he finished but then added, "Since ya wen' thru the trouble o' comin' 'ere, why not do wat we adults ask ya to, huh?"
'That horrible grammar though' Annie thought T^T
"First of all, hand over that kid behind you," the person on the right said, "we treat the kids a bit differently."
"And what if I don't?" Rin said provocatively.
"Ya wanna fight bitch?" The guy on the middle said.
"Don't see why not" Rin said and took out Akama from her waist.
Or not.
She tried to and then she looked at her waist.
Akama wasn't there.
Realization struck into Rin.
--------
"Woah, you got a katana!"
"Is that a big deal?"
"Nay, not much. But let's keep it aside for now till I dress you up!"
"Okay.." Rin said, putting down Akama at the corner of the room.
--------
Rin stepped back a little, still trying to hide Annie behind her.
"Ya scared bitch? Of course ya are!" the guy laughed, only to be ignored by Rin.
She lightly looked back.
"Sorry Annie...
But this might turn a bit ugly..."
