I finally awoke, and looking around me I could see nothing particularly out of place.

Ruffling out my hair and rubbing my face a bit, I pulled my IPod from my pocket and realized that it was 2:30 pm. PM??

I jumped off the couch too fast that I realized too late that my body was still slightly asleep and fell to the floor.

“GAHHH!!!!” I screamed, landing in a heap of legs and my arms underneath me.

Oh yeah, I’m so smooth.

Groaning from the impact, I slowly picked myself off the floor and crawled back onto the couch, locating my IPod nearly hanging off the edge of the couch before I grabbed it slightly loathing it’s very existence for a bit.

How dare you IPod… I thought you were my friend.

“Umm… Maria?” A voice called from a few yards away.

I looked up and Vince seemed amused for some reason.

“Err… I’m guessing you saw what just happened, huh? I asked sheepishly.  Please say no, please say no…

He smiled.  “Yup, all of it actually. You didn’t see me sitting here all this time?” he seemed rather surprised by this.

It’s not like he’s the first thing on my mind. Jerk.  “Actually not really. Shocking isn’t it?” I replied, my voice heavy on the sarcasm.

He rolled his eyes. “I was just trying to see how I would get you back for that little stunt you pulled this morning.” He said smirking at my expression on my face from the thought of him plotting to get his revenge. “Unfortunately I don’t exactly know what to do yet.”

Phew,’ I thought my body releasing the tension that I felt in my shoulders. ‘He didn’t get me yet.’  Hopefully it stayed that way.

“Besides,” he added, “You seem to do a lot of damage all by yourself. The way you woke up was funny enough for me today. Too bad I didn’t have a camera or phone anywhere near me.” He stated, and the way he said that seemed a little suspicious for me.

I looked at him a little harder staring him down, and all he did was put his hands behind his back and wink at me.

The sly little devil he was.

I ran up the stairs and looked around my room for anything missing or anything that was out of place, coming up with nothing.  My room was the same way I left it; bed less frame and immaculate.  I really needed to change that pronto, but I needed to check everywhere…

I checked the bathrooms, the guest bedroom, and heck even my parents’ room and bathroom, and things seemed to be all in place.  Nothing seemed to be missing and there wasn’t a rigged room or anything like that, and I checked.  I even moved slowly throughout my search to make sure no buckets would be falling on my head or I’d slip or fall into something really gross. Coming up with nothing, I was soon scared.  The only places left were the living room and kitchen, and I was scared to go down there.

Peeking downstairs to check if he was still in the house, I could see he was still in the same position he was when I left him to check through my house, and the only difference was that he was looking right back up at me with a smile and wink.

“Eep!!”  I squeaked before ducking behind the rail and silently cursing myself for looking.  This guy was trickier than I thought.

“I didn’t go upstairs Ri-Ri, that’s not my style.” He stated, half yelling so I could hear him. Heck even at a whisper, this house isn’t the best at keeping things secret.  I think that’s why my parents got the house… oh damn.
